Could He Beat Trump?

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DHuRTvzMFw]

So. Andrew Yang. What do I say?

He’s running for president. He’s  a democrat. He actually has logical arguments, and could definitely appeal to many centrists and moderate conservatives. Should we be worried? Could he beat Trump, or will the far left eat him alive in the primaries for not being insane enough? I think we have a force to be reckoned with here. I must say, I would rather have him than any other democrat currently running, though I will still vote Trump hands down. He honestly seems like maybe he should be a republican, though I could be wrong, as I don’t know all of his views. Will the American people hold on to a good thing when they get it (Trump), or will they throw it away in search of something better and accept the risk of getting something worse? Is this the harbinger of a new movement towards sanity within the Democratic Party?

There is so much to unpack here; I would really appreciate a Right Angle on this guy.

I completely agree that if the far left doesn’t decimate him early, he stands a good chance of pulling the libertarians and more moderate liberals to him and away from Trump. Here is a link below to all of his policy ideas, some of them quite radical on their own and not discussed in the portion of the interview I watched between him and Ben Shapiro (without subscribing to Daily Wire). I believe this is the only Democrat that stands a chance against Trump in 2020, so the right needs to pay good attention to him and be prepared with counter proposed policies to his that will satisfy the areas that he touches on. Even Ben Shapiro had some trouble in this area, where he is usually able to easily shut down the policies put forth by the far left.

I like the fact that Andrew Yang is staying on point with only policy issues, and not veering off into the divisive issues like race and identity politics. He’s not an “angry” Democrat like most and will hold the attention of even a moderate conservative like me. Though I don’t trust anyone who ventures into politics, he seems sincere and real when you listen to him as compared to any other Democrat that has thrown their hat into the ring.

Yeah, I agree. It’s amazing to me that Ben went through an hour long interview with him (it’s amazing that he even showed up) without ever mentioning feminism, nazis, racism, homophobia, etc. He just sat down and had a conversation about logical solutions to economic problems facing real Americans. Granted, I think most of his solutions are totally wrong, but he seems to actually care about fixing the problems with reasoned solutions.

I noticed that Ben never went for the kill shot when he could have easily DESTROYED his ideas with FACTS. It seems that this was more of an interview than a debate. I would like to see the two debate in a different setting, where Ben could really grill him and go after the little things.

One of the things I thought he should have asked was “why are you a democrat?” he doesn’t seem to fit in with that crowd, and I could see him running as more of a centrist for either party. Maybe he has some more extreme left views I do not know about, but it would be worth hearing his answer.

I would agree, would love to see them debate for two reasons, to see how Ben would counter Andrew’s proposals and to see how Andrew would hold up under that type of debate. Could he continue to keep his composure, as he will need that against his opponents on the left itself. I will probably watch the Democratic Presidential Debates just to see how he holds up. And pain myself through listening to the others lol.

Andrew does have some very radical positions on some policies if you take a look at the link I posted above and drill down on Andrew’s ideas about a few. One of them, adding term limits for Supreme Court Justices being one he “can’t” promise, since it would require a Constitutional Amendment. There are other somewhat radical policy changes on his list as well that he doesn’t talk about openly that I’ve seen. Worth a look through what he’s suggesting.

Yeah, I looked at his website. Some his policies actually seem like good ideas, but many of them are the typical leftist gender wage gap, abortion, etc. positions.
