Democrats find a devious way to prevent Vice President Kamala Harris from becoming the party’s next presidential nominee — and it’s actually worse for America.
That’s just one of this week’s top stories on Stephen Green’s Right Angle Lightning Round (America’s favorite ambush journalism show).
Other stories include…
- Takes One to Know One: Chelsea Clinton finds “grifters” on Substack.com after years of proximity to the reigning champions.
- VD Better than CRT: Hispanic students, forced to learn Critical Race Theory, would rather have the health class they used to enjoy.
- Doomsday-Prepper Psaki: White House signals Friday’s jobs report sounds apocalyptic. Press Secretary Jen Psaki pre-massages the dismal numbers, blaming Omicron.
- Spot the Hip-o-cracy: Neil Young sold half his music catalog to Hipgnosis, owned by Blackstone Group, whose newest senior advisor is the CEO of Pfizer. Mr. Young threatens to yank his tunes from Spotify if they don’t drop podcaster Joe Rogan over Rogan’s controversial interviews about COVID-19, vaccines and the like. Being the child of 2 despicable Human Beings that have ZERO Virtue, HONESTY and VIRTUE is a very deep hole tom dig out of for any individual and especially na child.
That Starland Vocal Band greatest hits compilation would have to include Take Me Home, Country Roads, co-written with and made famous by John Denver.
As for Mr. Young, I have always been an admirer of his work 50 yrs ago when he had something to say. He hasn’t written anything worth listening to in decades…….ironically, Decade was his greatest hits compilation, the sum total of his best work, which he released at the ripe old age of 30. He’s had a good run, coasting since the mid-70’s to wind up an angry old fart with nothing to do but defend his lawn and his legacy.
Two of my favorite albums are from Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Like most my age, I went along with CSN&Y and didn’t cut my hair, letting my freak flag fly, at least until I looked at photos and decided that was a really bad choice cosmetically. Joni was one of my first in person concerts, paid for with lawn mowing money when that was $2/hour.
Sad that these “non-conformists” are working for “the man” now.
There was some freakin’ brilliant music that came out of that LA scene in the late 60’s early 70’s. If you get a chance to see the “Laurel Canyon” documentary (Amazon Prime) it’s good. If you liked the LA scene.
I did not know that Joni and Graham Nash were “a thing”. Some really good stories in there.
Also, “The Wrecking Crew” and “Muscle Shoals” if you haven’t seen them.
I have a message here from the Weasel’s union:
“We weasels do not wish to be associated with that red headed spokesperson, we do have some standards.”
Hey Steve? Yeah, I “contributed a few dollars” to the Trump campaign and it was a mistake doing so.
I had never given money to a political campaign in my life but my thinking was that the 2020 election was likely the most critical political event in my life. So I felt I had to do what I could to promote the outcome I wanted. I gave money on a regular basis to the Trump campaign.
Since then I have been inundated with Spam emails and text messages not only from Trump supporting organizations but from every other conservative or Republican cause in the nation.
Clearly the Trump campaign sold or shared my contact information with a lot of other organizations.
It’s the worst kind of Spam too, it comes from random email addresses and numbers so I can’t block it. That means it’s intentional and purposely made impossible to block.
When I saw what was happening even before the election I clicked “unsubscribe” on anything that came in. That did zero good but I wanted to give them a chance to stop Spamming me before I started marking their emails and texts as Spam, because that’s how servers get blacklisted.
They didn’t honor the “unsubscribe” button, they did what common dirtbag Spammers do and took an unsubscribe request as proof of a live human being on the receiving end of their Spam.
The email spam has tapered off some but the text message Spam is still coming in at the rate of dozens a week. This really ticks me off because I have a pretty well hardened phone system against Spam and Telemarketers. I let them in with the best of intentions and they’re abusing my good will in the worst way.
I will never, ever contribute money to a political campaign again. At least not by any means electronic.
Sometimes I think that when I unsub from an email list, all I’m really doing is telling them, “This is a good email address and you should share it with every spammer you know.”
It depends. If it’s a legit site they will usually honor the unsub request. If not then what’s happening is what you describe. If they don’t honor your unsub, then they’re crooks and you don’t want to let them know they actually reached a live person.
Usually it’s not hard to tell, unsolicited email is unsolicited email. You should never unsubscribe to something that arrives out of the blue and you have no inkling of how they got your email address.
That goes for telemarketers and such too. If you pick up the phone for a telemarketer, your phone number immediately becomes more valuable. They may not sell you what they called about, or scam you with a credit card fraud, or whatever. But they make money selling “active” lists too, it’s a secondary income stream and one of the reasons they’re doing what they do.
There are some like that. Most are pretty good about it, though. Last thing you want is people pissed off at you, I guess.
#metoo
I gave some to the Romney campaign back when he was running against Obama, I think, and yeah … same thing. Flooded with paper mail, emails, phone calls. I even bought a call blocker.
I’m on my second call blocker right now. Have a mini pc dedicated to it. Runs software called “CallClerk”. You have to be a bit of a techie to get it set up and use it. But I’m a sysadmin by trade. It’s REALLY flexible.
Guess I missed the discussion of Kammie to SCOTUS. But you might be overlooking the obvious. There’s another black vagina (those ARE the qualification he’s laid out for consideration only.) Meeeeeechelle and she could always get a sounding from Barry.
I don’t think Moochie the Wookie would even be interested. Being on the SCOTUS is work and Moose avoids that like the plague.
BTW, I despise that woman. Maybe you can tell?
Great intro Steve! And I loved several stingers throughout the show, not least “ravages of charisma “. Platinum quote about a fool’s gold.
Here is the question about Harris to the SC. Are there 50 senators who would vote against? (I am presuming she could not break her own tie). Also, since you can’t serve two branches of government, would they get her to resign before the hearings? Then vote no and have her gone?
Then when Joe is incapacitated, Nancy would be the first woman POTUS.
I hate to say this, and saying it is nearly as painful as the kidney stone I passed a few days ago but …
Ninny Pilosi might be better for America as POTUS than Biden. We have fallen that low.
First of all – very sorry about the stone. Not your first?
While I agree that Nasty Pillory would be better than Joe, she is nearly as demented and her slightly more lucidity could actually do more damage.
We need Joe to hang on until the election this fall and not accidentally trip and trigger Armageddon between now and then. After that, I don’t think it’s going to matter who the Lame Duck is in the Oval Office, or at least not matter a lot.
Thank God for checks and balances …
If Kacklin’ Kammy is still VP or Ninny ends up being the successor, either way I doubt they’ll get more than two years as “the first woman President”.
Ninny has a slight advantage in that she’s actually got some experience as an administrator and organizer and likely won’t be quite the embarrassment to the country that the POTUS (Potato of the United States) is now. But …
You know what they say about the foolishness of thinking “things can’t get any worse”.
(P.S.– Yeah, first stone ever. Hurt like hell but I’ve hurt a lot more from injuries and for a lot longer time so I weathered it OK. It’s a matter of scale. Pun intended. Major joy when it ended even so. I can see why people don’t like stones now. Besides injuries compounded by aging and arthritis I can’t wait to see what fresh new horrors my beat up carcass has in store for me.)
Not better. Just less bad.
Agreed, good point.
I don’t know what the D’s are afraid of regarding Vice President Kamala Harris. They’ve already successfully installed a retarded old man; why not attempt to install a retarded old woman?
I admit it. Neil and Joni are my generation, I know their songs intimately. It’s Alzheimers. It’s got to be! Were they always this dense?
My recollection of Neil was that he was very anti-government. If the government said it, it must be false. To see him fall this way on the issue of free speech, well it’s either a very large bribe or dementia as you say.
As to Joni, I liked her singing but performers really do have this incredible sense of self-importance that leads them to think they are experts on everything because they are famous.
He was only anti government when the government was pro-American. Now that it’s completely co-opted, he’s all for it as he was always for communism. Remember, he hated President Trump and tried to get him to stop playing his songs.
Yeah famously stupid.
Let’s not forget that the most brilliant woman on the planet (Hillary) is a great role model for girls by spending decades as either 1) the top enabler for the world’s most famous sexual predator, or 2) the world’s dumbest woman for not realizing her husband would stick his pecker in any woman that moved, consentual or not
Hillary is in her late 70s, Kamala could stay on the court and do damage for decades, both parties now take age into consideration for this reason. But Hillary or Michele as VP is a different story, so which faction would prevail, which is more devious, which more evil?
As Steve likes to say, Embrace the healing power of “and”
Great lightning round! It’s fun on occasion to have some quick thoughts on a topic rather than an in depth discussion.
Heh. I actually have two Starland Vocal Band albums I bought when I was in college. Musically they were pretty good. And … little known fact, Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert wrote the John Denver hit “Country Roads” and obscure JD favroite of mine “I Guess He’d Rather Be in Colorado”. I know, nobody knows the names of anybody in the band 😀
Little known fact, the idea for “Afternoon Delight” came off of a menu item at a restaurant where they were eating once.
I’m a little bit of a music geek. Anway, there you have it.
If Bobby Goldsboro pulls “Honey”, I’m done with Spotifiy 😀 😀 😀
Just kidding. Where would I get my Rogan fix?
A “bit” of a music geek? Did you have to look any of that up? If not, then I am a bit of a drinker. My doctor will be happy to know this. 😉
Nope. I was the guy who used to listen to the DJ’s stories back when that was a thing. And I read album covers. Also worked at a used record store for a few years WHILE I was at Mizzou. Plus I’m a pretty big John Denver fan.
Wonder if Steve remembers Whizz Records (across from Jesse Hall)?
See this? That’s about 1,500 albums. I also have around 900 CDs. And a Spotify subscription.
Would you believe the only Neil Young I have is when he’s with CSN? Yeah, he was always a peripheral to me anyway. 🙂
I learned about the origins of Afternoon Delight when I stumbled on a YouTube video of them a few years back … a kind of a “reunion” + “whatever happened to…”
Like Fleetwood Mac and probably several other mixed gender bands, they WERE married to each other (coupled off) but got divorced. Apparently they’re still all friends and get together socially on occasion.
That is quite the collection. Are you an audiophile as well? I hear that “record players” for high end listeners are making a comeback.
The first Album I owned was Johnny Cash Live at San Quentin. That cool, blue album cover with Cash silhouetted. To this day, Boy Named Sue is one of my favorite songs as is the Wreck of the Old 97. No idea what happened to that Album lost over time in many moves. I don’t recall ever just giving away Albums, but I must have done so when CD and Streaming took over.
You should exercise your music geekery at the Member blog too. Good stuff.
There is a youtube channel I stumble upon called Rick Beato. Have you watched any of his stuff? Another I don’t see as often is, I think, “The Professor of Rock” and some of his shows were about stuff like that. Always interesting to hear the history behind things, and a song from a menu item doesn’t surprise me at all.
I will now! 🙂
“This just doesn’t happen to be one of them”
No, it’s far, FAR worse than that. It’s intentionally divisive postmodernist, garbage, as Steve said, designed to destroy the west.
