When hysterical heads prevail–and all legacy media (LM) are hysterical–you hear the Mercury News, blare, “US has 4% of world’s population, yet 25% of Covid-19 cases. Recently, The Desert Sun reported that cases had jumped 53% in just one week. The geniuses at Factcheck.org confirm that the 25% figure is accurate. The over-wrought conclusion is always, “Orange Man BAD!” amd that the United States has the worst track record in the world when it comes to dealing with Covid-19.
Is it really this bad? Of course a pandemic is bad, but it’s still not what the leftists want you to believe. How do I know this? Because I look at the data.
I’ve been downloading the data and compiling my own information from the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Information Center. I get it and make sense of it useing spreadsheets that I compile. Because I put it together, I can look at stats that are more relevant and that offer better comparisons with other countries.
Here is how I look at it.
The case fatality ratio is probably the most useful stat when looking at Covid-19. It measures the percentage of deadly cases based on the number of confirmed cases. This information, in turn, tells us if a greater or smaller percentag of infected people are dying. This is useful because it gives a measure of the lethality of the disease and of the effectiveness of the measures that we take against it, once someone becomes infected.
Becuase it is a percentage, it also tells us how we are doing in relation to the world as a whole and selected countries.
I wrote all this only to discover that I could only share one image. To see the graphs, go to Parler.
One reply on “COVID-19: Useful stats”
Thank you for putting up the graphs. I found that the only way I could see what country was represented was to right click and “view image.” I wouldn’t have known they were labeled at all if I hadn’t seen the bottom half of Italy peeking out of the upper frame.
For those who want a “cheat code,” the represented countries are, from left to right, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Italy and Mexico.
