Dances with Democrats: Warren Woos Progressives, Comforts Party Faithful

It is true that the old way to run was to run to your side (left or right) during the primary and then run to the center during the election. The problem is that doesn’t fit with the technology of the day. The technology of the day now provides instant access to every and all speeches any given candidate has done. Although this was true in past elections, the press was able to steer the narrative past many of the missteps. NOW, so many citizens see the press for what it is: the AV department for the DNC. More and more citizens are getting their news from other than main stream and thusly seeing the truth in all of its misspeaking, two-faced glory.
On the left, we have a cadre of candidates that have to say one thing to their base, and the opposite to their donors. Then, on the right we have Trump. Trump is a man that shoots from the hip. Even if he misses some of the time, what you can’t say is that he is contrived. He tells you what he thinks at that moment and he owns it. I think when given the choice, America will prefer an honest person that sometimes screws up more so than a polished and smarmy weasel that will backstab them in a second.
This was exactly the reason Romney lost. He was too concerned about how the press would portray him than how he would portray himself. He went hard after Obama in the second debate but then wilted like toast dipped in tea at the third. He “softened” because he was told that the press would portray him as an attack dog. Had he just gone after Obama and said to heck with how the press portrayed him as, we would be 3/4 of the way through his second term right now. This is why Trump won. Donald Trump doesn’t care what the press thinks. He knew that America would see him and make up our own minds. America WANTS an attack dog. We were tired of having a well manicured, toy poodle in the White House and brought in a pit bull.
