DEMOCRACY FOR DUMMIES

The United States of America is a constitutional republic. The word “democracy” is not mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights.

This listicle is a reminder which contains a few rejoinders to employ when discussing the merits (hint, nearly none) of democracy with your democrat friends or family.

This is my favorite quote:  “The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter.” — Winston Churchill

Absolutely! We are a Constitutional Republic with some democratic elements. That does not make us a democracy. The reason we hear this term so often is that they want it embedded in the heads of the uninformed so they will believe majority rule is how we run.
I quite enjoy the looks on the faces of those I correct. And the silence.

Hey Dindy Dee. Nice collection of quotes about a pure democracy and a good reminder that we’re a constitutional republic. Having said that, I don’t fault people for saying we’re a democracy. To me it’s a little nitpicky and along the lines of those political science people who chastise us for not wanting socialism or mistaking communism for fascism. I don’t think that they’ll even care what uniform the guard is wearing when he brings them their food in prison for saying the wrong thing against the regime.

I know what they mean when they say democracy, that we were founded on democratic principles (personal liberty and representative government as we largely understand it) while being organized as a constitutional republic (and thank God for that and Ron DeSantis taking full advantage).

Its true that our form of government in the U.S. is a constitutional republic, but it’s also true that we operate under the ideological principles of democracy. Technically, we’re both a constitutional republic and a democracy. One’s form. The other ideology. And I’ll bet poli sci academics will argue until the cows come home whether that’s even correct.

Ridding ourselves of the electoral college and employing direct democracy I agree would result in the more populous states acting in their own best interests with the less populous states at their mercy. Terrible idea. Direct democracies, as I seem to remember from Naomi Wolf who studied the early stages of Nazi Germany and other regimes, are also the first or one of the first steps toward tyranny. Here Tucker Carlson Today interview can be found on http://www.tuckercarlson,com. Highly recommend the TCT.

The following excerpt from the linked article provides more clarity, and the author of the article itself (an SAT/ACT prep guide), “What Is a Republic vs. a Democracy? Understanding the Difference,” does an excellent job in outlining the differences between a democracy and a republic as well as how they interact.

Thanks again for posting.

“The U.S as a Democracy

Remember that the difference between a republic and a democracy comes in how each of those ideas functions in government. So if the United States is a republic because of how the government operates, it’s a democracy because of why it operates. In other words, the U.S. runs its government like a republic, but it bases its government on democratic ideals.

In order to operate as a democracy, the United States has to have free and fair elections, citizen participation in government, protect citizens’ human rights, and honor the rule of law. The United States meets all four the criteria to qualify as a democracy.”

Thanks again for posting. Really enjoying the trucker convoys and watching the fascist globalist establishment (including Old Crow McConnell) wring their hands as the cat creeps out of the bag. Wait until everyone figures out what’s really behind all this and how long it’s been going on. This is the scene in every movie where the crowd turns on the bully / tyrant when they realize he/she has no more power.
We ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Glenn Beck is doing a fantastic job. This is a must watch for everyone:

Thanks, Jeremy – you are such a wealth of knowledge about our government. I really appreciate it. I think I slept through Civics class.

You’re very welcome Dindy Dee, and thank you for the compliment. There’s so much I still want to learn and can learn. The free courses offered by Hillsdale are amazing and on my list.

If you have some time, read the “injuries and usurpations” the founders list in the Declaration of Independence while accusing the King of Great Britain of the establishment of an absolute tyranny over the colonies. They sound awfully familiar!

Have a great day. God bless.

P.S. Off topic, but Sidney Powell’s speech at The Renewal on Feb. 3rd was a great watch as well…

Hillsdale is a college I am happy to support with a monthly donation. I take their on-line courses and read Imprimis eagerly when I receive it. Yes, indeed, our injuries and grievances today are certainly every bit as bad, perhaps more so, as those that brought us to our original fight for independence against tyranny.

I am hounding my congressman to push for my state to stop dithering and pass the Convention of States resolution.

I think you would enjoy reading Charles Haywoods blog The Worthy House. Check it out

There was a recent Right Angle entitled “Time for a Sequel?” concerning the COS. Not sure if you caught it.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check out Charles Haywood’s blog. Pulled it up in a new tab on my browser.
This is a very exciting time. People are catching on to the shenanigans behind the scenes, and if we all pull our money out of their central banking system and stop patronizing huge, faceless corporations who have treated us like a number for a long time now, then poof! There goes their power.

They can try violent means, but I just think there’s way too many of us common folk not to mention our allies in the military for that to succeed.

On the other side is unlimited opportunity to reorganize in a 5G world. Should be fun!
