Usually that message means the DNS result wasn’t found, not that anything happened to the web site.
Hackers have gone after the DNS system, and taken Netflix and other sites offline for a few hours. I suppose the same thing could have happened here.
When I was on fb many years ago, we, my neighbors and I got the same thing. my neighbor called fb and they said the website was rebooted or something like that and for us to unplug our modem/internet for a few minutes and try again. That worked. I hope this helps.
This doesn’t make a lot of sense, as sites like this are so large they are running on multiple computers, and there would not be a single, or isolated, computer to be restarted. Plus, you would not need to do anything on your end if that was the case, my guess is someone wanted to make you wait without saying “try again in 5 minutes”.
I’m just telling you what happen to us, sorry.
Maybe it was because we are on gen4?
