The US governement has effectively set up the Ministry of Truth now that it’s lost its grip on Twitter. And it’s to be run by the lovely Nina Jankowicz. How lovely and boy can she sing! But the American dictionary defines misinformation and disinformation as follows:
misinformation | ˌmɪsɪnfəˈmeɪʃn | noun [mass noun] false or inaccurate information, especially that which is deliberately intended to deceive: nuclear matters are often entangled in a web of secrecy and misinformation.
and
disinformation | ˌdɪsɪnfəˈmeɪʃn | noun [mass noun] false information which is intended to mislead, especially propaganda issued by a government organization to a rival power or the media: the entire Western intelligence system had been systematically manipulated with clever disinformation | [as modifier] : it was a highly coordinated disinformation campaign.
So they are banning disinformation. The very thing they themselves are putting out. You could not make this up.
