And that pyramid is starting to collapse because the bottom support which is the cities is shrinking. It won’t be long before the top point collapses on top of the democratic party. I respectfully disagree with Bill. The point is that the poor quality people concentrate in the big cities. If you could just move the cities into another dimension, the remaining folks could create a way more sensible and working america. Without that possibility that part kinda chokes the country.
Action is required for sure, but it’s more convenient just sitting at a screen and just watching or only typing. 😮
But we do still need factories, or we are completely reliant on countries that have them, and subject to their standards.
I work in technology … and I realize I don’t actually make anything physical, yet I rely on physical things and people who can maintain them.

Cant remember who said it, but this episode reminds me of the adage, “When there is blood in the street, buy property.” Or something to that effect. I would imagine Feinstein’s real estate hubby is slobbering all over himself, wringing his hands while envisioning how much money he will make reselling SFO when it recovers…if it does. If not, the government will pay handsomely to set up the immigrants and many homeless, and drug addicts in those office buildings. Even typing that made me shiver.

The sad part is that as long as Leftists are in charge things will only get worse, as Leftists are incapable of admitting to ever being wrong. A few years ago I was chatting online with a dude living in San Francisco and he was dead serious when he suggested that the reason housing was so expensive in SF was because of all of the downtown property being Air BNB’d out to undercut the expensive hotels. I don’t know what the end game is for SF recovering, but things will get much worse before they get better
I think all those empty office buildings would make excellent housing for the homeless and those crossing the border illegally in TX.
I disagree with you in that I don’t think it’s sad at all. I think it’s great that Leftist policies are manifesting themselves in the only way they possibly can.
As part of my “give them what they want, good and hard” perspective I find this situation encouraging. It never hurts to point to examples of utter failure and say …

Lori Lightfoot isn’t worried about defunding the police, she’s got her own, official, sworn, badge and gun carrying protection detail. She doesn’t need a gun and she has no reason to say anyone but the police need them.
That protection detail will be the very last thing to be defunded, there will always be enough money in Chicago to pay for that no matter what and paid for it will be.
A friend of mine brought up a good idea. If there were laws that prevent people like Lori Lightfoot from having sworn officer protection details they’d probably think a little differently about riding a fad like “defund the police” for political gain.

I don’t think they should be forced to be completely unprotected, there are nuts out there that would love to bag a Leftist the same as nuts who would like to take down a “racist” Conservative.
They can have all the protection they can afford as far as I’m concerned.
I’m just saying that if they’re defunding the police that’s the first place they should have to start. Let ’em pay for their own bodyguards. If they want to take police protection away from taxpayers, it seems only right that taxpayers should take police protection away from them too.
That would be a very hard point to argue against and would probably turn a lot of inner city minority voters to our side.
