Even If Mitch McConnell Causes Climate Change, Can Democrats Win White House?

In the wake of the first round of Democratic presidential primary debates, Americans are left with the impression that climate change and Mitch McConnell are the two greatest, imminent threats to the country, and to life on Earth. But even if Mitch McConnell personally causes climate change, can Democrats win the White House?

I like what Robert Zubrin said. To paraphrase–Humans are not consumers of natural resources. Humans take natural raw material and MAKE resources.

I don’t think the Democrats can demonize Mr McConnel for the same reason Republicans and conservatives disliked him for the last many years… he’s too bland and quiet. Now, Cocaine Mitch on the other hand they can try to attack but with an easy target from the border bill they turned on their fellow Democrats in the Senate instead with cries of betrayal.

To go along with the coal fired cars, you have the eagle killing windmills of death and the solar farms that fry birds (they don’t) and also take up vast swaths of habitat for lots of other ground based animals. We could build a single natural gas powered clean generator plant in a fraction of the space but we have to use coal because all of those NIMBYs (who also oppose all of the wind mills (blocks the vistas in Cape Cod, can’t have that)) and the Greens who don’t want us building anything anywhere wouldn’t let us build or expand any of the power plants we have now. I guess that means California can export their brown outs and we’ll have to blame someone for the heat stroke deaths of the elderly and poor who lose their air conditioning.

My biggest fear is that people get as confident (and wrong) about Trump for 2020 as Hillary supporters were in 2016. Nothing is a sure thing.

They might feel they are better running against Mitch McConnell than Donald Trump.

I am tempted to buy a Prius just to put a bumper sticker saying
‘This car is nuclear powered’. Illinois gets a lot of it’s energy from nukes.
