Film… wardrobe… ya know?!

Unfortunately I believe you are making the same mistake that President Trump has been making for years: You assume that people are 1) smart enough to figure things out, and 2) that they’ll exert the miniscule amount of effort needed to clear the weeds.  You have to explain things, even if you don’t “explain things”.

People don’t move until you draw blood.  It has to hurt; then they get activated.  I’ve taught high school, and I still drive the highways eternally screaming in my own mind “the left lane isn’t just one of the choices…”

Apparently people are STILL missing that mild mannered progressive reporter Skip is a role played by our much beloved Scott Ott.  So what is in BWN that tells them that? Do we really expect everyone to figure it out?  … seriously?  And according to Bill on TSL last night, it’s a recurring problem for some who just can’t help themselves.  So, are we going to address the issue or let it fester till we have to hack off a limb?

I’ve said this before but it appears no one heard me.  So I’ll say it again.  Some people need the visual cues.  They don’t listen closely enough or think introspectively enough to catch what Bill, Scott, and Steve being ever present for each episode take for granted.

Scott is playing a role.  Give the man a little wardrobe so that he appears to be IN THE ROLE that he’s playing.  When he can take off the hat, put down the ‘note-pad’ and pencil, and actually speak as Scott rather than “Progressive Reporter Skip Superior, saving the world one knuckle-dragger at a time”, even better.

You’re story tellers.  Tell the visual story so people don’t miss it; or do we have enough subscribers to spare a few who don’t catch the rather obvious and then bounce?

Bill does mention from time to time the role Scott is playing but I’m not sure if many people are familiar with the Devil’s Advocate or the “role playing” that used to happen on SNL (or so it’s implied… Ron Burgundy? I think?)

Having a blurb on Youtube (and I should probably check before saying there should be) that describes the show and says “This week, Scott playing Skip Superior needles Bill about X”

That’s actually not a bad idea–I do appreciate the verbal cues Bill’s already taken to using. (Though I do wonder if some people never watch Right Angle, as it’s pretty clear there that he’s not a leftist stooge.)
