Scott, you know full well that corporations don’t pay taxes. I know YOU know that, but I’m pretty sure the people you’re Devil’s-Advocating for don’t understand that.

We want big companies to make a lot of money to pay their fair share in taxes.

That is something like saying the government pays Social Security, when the taxpayer actually does. Large companies pass along taxes in the price of goods. A tax increase is paid by the customer/consumer in the form of price hikes.

There are indeed some dems who think that they are on the side of the right. They have swallowed the ideas of government should help make things more fair. So they want groups of people to have their lives made easier by government. They don’t see, mostly because the MSM doesn’t show, how dem policies actually make it worse.
For many of them, if they could see how they policies make it worse, they would change a little. It is why a Kim Klasik is so powerful in Baltimore. I do so hope she wins.

BW, Scott has a real point you never accepted or addressed: Liberals do not see themselves the way you portray them, and when they hear you talk like that, they think you are literally crazy, unhinged. I know because I’ve had those conversations. They literally, do not see reality as it really is. I have not figured out how to get through to them, but I know the straight, undiluted truth and facts do not. They think you’re crazy, end of conversation.

Yeah, I thought Bill would do better with “you might believe this, but your candidate actually said THAT and so THAT is what you are supporting.”

On Taxes, the big people can “pay their fair share” but when they move, they pay nothing. The corporate taxes though are just taxes on the middle class who work there (and do not get raises because the taxes took all the money) or who shop there (and thus are the ones paying the money that goes into the taxes [prices are higher] or into the raises for more business [oh, but taxes when up, so no raises]) and all of the regulations just make everything harder.

Energy is harder, because people get high on the magic fairy dust and unicorn farts and just cannot handle the numbers.

What is often ignored, “Fair Share” only means MORE. The advocates of the rich paying their fair share refuse to defined the amount of “fair”. Hence, it only and always means more than they are already paying.

Is it “fair” that the top few percent pay well over 50% of their income in taxes while the bottom 50% pay next to nothing or nothing at all? How is that fair? It is not! It is legalized theft.

But…but…but the rich are the ones who have the money. Yes and it is because they created the wealth behind their money. The bottom 50% don’t have money BECAUSE they don’t create wealth. However, they have been trained to expect to consume other people’s wealth because the government will take from the producers and give it to the non-producers.

So the bottom line is the rich must pay BECAUSE they create wealth and the bottom 50% are to receive that wealth BECAUSE they do not create that wealth. THAT is not fair by any distortion of language!

If you think otherwise, go to HELL!

Yeah, that’s why I put quotes around the phrase, because you can either pay a share of your income or your share of the cost. It has often been pointed out that when you have skin in the game you’re more interested in bring the cost of government down, increasing the efficiency (as a way to do that) and get it out of doing things that just run up expenses.

I think I made a comparison to the tragedy of the commons concept on another thread, because when you don’t feel ownership of something (and also ties into the welfare payments that cut you out of ownership of your own destiny, or pursuit of your happiness) you tend to treat it poorly, whether that is the common green used for grazing the village animals, the rental house you will leave in a year (and leave behind the mess you make) or the local park or school district that demands money by referendum that you vote in favor because “its someone else’s taxes” and “its for the kids” ignoring how most of the money just goes into shiny bits most people won’t see, slightly newer furniture for the titled few in the office, or other wastes that do nothing for the education of the kids.

Sadly, too many of We the People have been trained that if they simply breath, excrete, and eat, they are to be fed by taking the wealth that others created. They believe they don’t have to contribute anything but consumption and excretion.

They have the expectation the Government will be a loving parent and provide for all their wants and needs. Surprise! It doesn’t work that way. Never has and never will.

What a Government gives it must first take. To be taken, it must first be produced. Hence, the parasitical plan is based upon the hope that the producers keep on producing no matter what the Government does to them.

When the Government makes it impossible to produce (it eventually will), the whole scene collapses. The producers don’t have to Go Galt to cause the collapse. When production stops, consumption stops, and the collapse necessarily follows.

Here’s hoping that my gut feeling is right, TRUMP wins with 375+ electoral votes, our majority in the senate increases, we take back congress, and PELOSI,WATERS, SCHUMER, SCHIFF,and the “crew” all lose their seats and are outta there! There is still hope left ,right?

I have to be honest that I have not paid enough attention to most House races. Kim Klacik and a few others are the only ones to which I have paid any mind. I hope she wins, but I don’t think so. I have a hard time believing that we will get the house, mostly because I don’t trust the GOPe.

If we lose this election, Conservative America based on the founding principles and documents, will not just disappear all at once. But it will disappear through time, never to be seen again, as the Left State usurps and controls the Right’s voice, so that the seminal concepts disappear from the public view. These are the results we can expect if we lose, and clearly the threat of the times in which we now live.

Bill, you gave up far too easily on the “Biden prefers X over Y” when he says he’s for all of the things you say he’s against. Don’t change the subject until you’re done eviscerating them on this one.

We ALL KNOW that when he says these things it’s the Motte half of the Democrats’ Motte and Bailey tactics on these things. We ALL KNOW IT! We see the party back, and give apologies for the “protestors” (rioters).

THEN we can talk about energy, a subject upon which they do the exact same thing.

This election is an argument between the third who just want to be left alone to live their lives as they see fit and the third who wish to be taken care of by that first third from cradle to grave. The middle third is simply confused about which side they are on. The best of the middle third feel (not think) that government simply needs to be kind, generous, (compassionate conservatism) and all will be well. That didn’t work out so well did it?

Either you live your life by right or you are a slave. Being a slave is a living death no matter how “benevolent” your owner is. You live by and for his permission. You have no say in the matter.

As things now stand, roughly half of We the People think they would be perfectly happy being slaves and the other approximate half hate the idea with a violent passion. Then, there is that small cadre of criminals who think they have a right to own slaves and intend to enslave the entire county. Sadly, many Republicans go along to get along. All the good and honest Democrats simply stand by in amazement.

I object! Trump 2020!

Many forms of slavery, all are terrible and destructive to the human spirit. For example, lack of war does not necessarily mean a peaceful and wonderrful existence. Not if you are simply a caged animal reduced to living in a pen by a all powerful government.

Good and honest democrats? I don’t know, Lionel, unless they are unbearably stupid. But you can’t be for the party of destruction and death and be good. You’re the one who said their ways lead to death, and I agree

I knew a few good and honest Democrats a life time ago. They were honorable midwestern business men. The Republicans and Democrats had their disagreements but they generally agreed on the fundamentals. They loved freedom and liberty too.

Today the disagreement on the fundamentals is violent. However, that comes from the insane left of left who have taken over the Democratic party. We are almost reduced to assured mutual destruction as was the case during the early days of the so called cold war..

There are likely a few of the old line good and honest Democrats still alive but they have totally lost their once strong hold on their party. As a consequence, they are part of the great silent majority. We should welcome them to our side.

i guess that’s my point. Any good man of conscience can not be a democrat now. Here’s to good news tonight, Lionell! Here’s to life!
