It’s been about six weeks since the Parkland Incident and since then, I’ve tried to encourage honest, constructive dialog on the subject of firearm ownership. I’m not going to do that anymore. I’m done trying to persuade. I’m eulogizing, now. It has become increasingly apparent to me, that the anti-gunners are not interested in civility or discussion.
I’ve tried to give people the benefit of the doubt. I’ve assumed that they are caring, compassionate people, who actually want to solve the problem of gun violence. They don’t. They want to virtue signal. I’ve seen post after post, comment after comment, from these individuals, characterizing gun owners as mouth-breathing, knuckle dragging troglodytes, who WANT to see children killed. They call us “ammosexuals”, murderers and terrorists. There can be no dialog with people such as this. With their ivory tower mindset and narcissistic smugness, they consider themselves to be intellectually and morally superior to we plebian types, clinging to our guns and outmoded values.
And this is the difference. We who love liberty oppose collectivist ideologies, because we think the IDEOLOGIES are evil. And the overwhelming evidence of history bears us out. Top-down, command-and-control, statist regimes always lead to the gulag, concentration camp and mass grave. The collectivists on the other hand, oppose us, because they think WE’RE evil. Not on board with the gun ban agenda? You’re a monster who bathes in the blood of the innocent.
This past weekend’s March for the Police State, and the subsequent reactions to it tell me one thing; and that is, in the Millennial and post-Millennial generations, and the gun ban supporters, the oligarchs have finally gotten what they’ve always wanted: An electoral majority of hive-minded drones who will willingly fetter themselves in exchange for the promise of security, and congratulate themselves for their bravery, while doing it.
The era of America’s death by a thousand cuts is over. Up till now, no politician who wanted to be reelected would talk about repealing the Second Amendment, because it would’ve been political suicide. Not anymore. Thanks to political correctness, artificial tribalism and a carefully cultivated sense of entitlement, the time is now ripe. A former Supreme Court Justice is saying it’s time repeal the Second Amendment. A candidate for Sheriff in North Carolina “joked” about killing gun owners, to the laughter and applause of his audience. “No one is coming for your guns,” they say. The unspoken part is “yet”.
The jackboot is coming down. The only question is how many necks it will break when it lands.

No, that’s not the only question. There is also the question of when (or if) we will use the 2nd Amendment for what it was intended. It is past time.
They have left no other avenue. They want this confrontation. And, again, we are vastly outnumbered.
I know some people on our side, who are spoiling for this fight. Steve, my brother, I fear for the future. And I certainly would prefer that my wife and I don’t go down in a hail of police or US military gunfire (she reloads, while I shoot).
I know what you mean.
