The constitution does not mention freedom of expression, yet that is all we hear anymore. Everyone is now using “freedom of exprression” in place of “freedom of speach.” But, clearly they do not mean the same thing, otherwise there would be no need to use a different terminology. Whenever I hear it, it makes me cringe. I have the sense that it is something malicious. The manipulation of language is one of the primary weapons of the Left. It is used to hide reality and change consciousness.
What was the concern of the constitutional fathers when they included the protection of “freedom of speach?” I believe they had something rather specific in mind. The new “freedom of expression”, it seems to me, is far more expansive. I fear it is being used, or will be used, to justify giving constitutional protections to any and every thing that a person does as well as says. I fear the goal is to undermine and destroy the last vestiges of moral judgement and give constitutional protections to the most pervers actions which are on the queue for normalization.
The change is not comparable the terminological change from “Wuhan virus” to “covid-19”, because these two terms mean the same thing.
If my fears are justified, then it behoves everyone to stop using the expression and start calling out those who do use it. We have to take back the public narrative.
