So basically the end result is a government that can declare any opinion it dislikes as either “against human rights” and therefore hateful or “disinformation” and prosecute or sue the speaker or anyone facilitating their speech including free speech platforms and their owners.
To make matters worse, the Canadian government is seeking to charge social media companies for the use of any Canadian content. No one, of course, will pay to distribute Canadian news. So the people of Canada will be silenced.
Independent Canadian creators could, theoretically, distribute their content for free. However, I’m guessing that the Trudeau regime will label anything not officially approved for distribution as “Russian disinformation.”
It’s the end of free speech and external influence in Canada if allowed. No free speech platform such as Rumble is going to pipe their content into Canada and risk lawsuits in Canada from the Canadian government.
