Google said in a statement that its requires social media apps to have content moderation policies that remove posts that incite violence, and that posts on Parler were encouraging further violence after the U.S. Capitol riot earlier this week

For phones, use Uptodown App Store. Works for Android, don’t know about iPhone. Still has Parler and probably has the apps you use.
Thanks I was going to ask if there was a way to go around Google on my phone. I would like to move away from Google but it is pervasive.
Google could still be capturing that you’re downloading it from somewhere else but there’s nothing they can do about it. There was a high-profile case against Apple some years ago where the court ruled that users can install whatever they want on their phones from anywhere they want. Apple was trying to restrict them to the App Store.
So now a platform that’s not a platform is dictating what another platform that’s not a platform has to do? This is insanity. I’ve been using Parler for some time. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. wow. just wow.
