I’m trying desperately to understand how and when the RNC became so totally divorced from what “the people” who register republican actually want. More; I want to know how they became so completely indifferent to the damage that divorce is doing to their own chances in elections. I heard it said that ‘this is what it takes to win’; and all I have is: “Really? Because, newsflash, scooter, IT’S NOT WORKING.”
The last 3 elections have been in conditions ripe for voters to be waking up about how long it’s been since those in government last operated as if they knew they worked for “we the people”, not the other way around; but “conservatives’ stayed home in droves. 2020 was something of an exception, I may grant, because I’m grouchy enough not to care if someone hears me say I think the shenanigans were significant enough to affect the outcome; and THAT’s just on the ballot side. When you add the DOJ being a deliberate participant in hiding information that mattered, the ultimate outcome is that the American people lost that election by a very wide margin; and the cost of that loss has yet to be finalized.
Lay that one aside then. Let’s look just at 2022. If you were going to dream about conditions that were designed for the out-of-power party to make staggering gains, you could hardly come up with better than what we had. People openly giving the middle finger to the Constitution and defying USSC directives with zero apparent pause. A recession and inflation of near-record proportions, an administration that deliberately generated the conditions under which Russia invaded Ukraine, energy independence destroyed, government deciding ‘my body my choice’ absolutely does NOT extend to keeping your job if you don’t want an experimental drug… and let’s not forget the videos of Air Force pilots being forced to take off while Afghani civilians were hanging onto the outside of the plane…
and the result? A razor-thin majority in the house and enough lost seats in the senate that packing the Supreme Court is a possibility. The RNC takeaway from this result? “Okay, what we have been doing seems to be working just fine, let’s do more of that”. Keep the same careerist rinos in power positions. Refuse to fund candidates because they are actual conservatives. Keep the same RNC chairman who oversaw the other two election underperformances… and wonder why they don’t do better at the voting booth.
I’ll tell you why. It’s because you refuse to pay the least attention to what people actually want. I get it. You can’t, not really, because what the people want seems mostly to be someone not you running things. The republican party, at the “we the people” level, is rediscovering its conservative roots. You are not.

It will allow us to seize the assets of the political and corporate globalists (e.g., BlackRock) like Giuliani did with the mob.
Short answer. Once you understand that these are globalist atheists seeking the destruction of the U.S. and your freedom to bring us in line with their new world order with no borders and one world government of unelected officials, everything they’re doing from open borders to currency devaluation through inflation to wokeness in our military to draining our oil reserves to rigging elections makes perfect sense.
You should be very concerned that they’re supporting DeSantis.

Old school tea-partier here, old school as in I was there and participated in it when it started and gave up completely on it when I saw some of the results. The truth behind all of what you lay out John is quite simple, and it hurts. Somehow the pain isn’t enough and the plethora of people are ignorant to the causes, they ain’t paying attention until it kicks them where it hurts… repeatedly. The key being repeatedly. As a tea party person we ate drank and lived for local election stuff here in NC. We showed up to stuff sometimes in force sometimes individually. You would be astonished if you knew how little your local election nonsense like board meetings, and all were NOT attended. Show up with 10+ people and the meeting is YOURS if you want it…period. Especially in smaller townships. BUT that is only IF you can garner that kind of support. We struggled with other Tea Party members to get that kind of show out unless there was an outrage event of some kind. In which case usually the left would show up out of nowhere bus people in and out show us 100:1, they new the intimidation game better. THEY understood how the game was played so local electorate bowed to them every chance because they showed up in force. And we were shoved aside.
The economy both locally and nationally isn’t bad enough to force people, the average person that is, to wake up and take it to the local electorate on why things are the way they are. And even when it is sometimes STILL the local electorate or political bodies does absolutely nothing at all because they do not fear the people yet. I still think the best solution to this would be for every politician to fear if they messed up bad enough their own people would be there beating down their doors and taking care of business however they saw fit, and then holding new elections. But does the name Gavin Newsom ring a bell? Guy got recalled, reinstated and then went Mao round 2 on CA. And after learning HIS lesion he put forward legislation changing how school board members can be recalled. He learned his lesson, and in return most of Red CA did as well, and left.
Lets use a local example from around where I live. Here in NC a local school district has changed payroll systems and really messed with teacher pay. How bad? Well some teachers have gone 3 pay periods in a row without being paid at all. Others got paid incorrect amounts, and still others were overpaid. I’d say from talking with teachers around here about 65% conservatively have had payroll mishaps of one kind or another. Now the response to this? Tepid at best from ‘leadership’ who basically said they would get to the bottom of this….in September of 2022 yet here we are February 2023 and it still isn’t right in many circumstances. You can imagine the issues this creates since W2’s have already gone out retirement accounts aren’t funded properly and on and on and on. This particular County Gaston County has historic issues with not paying teachers well which is stupid since it borders CMS (Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools) that pay drastically more as well as South Carolina where teachers as a whole are paid more. Do the board members realize what deep crap they are in? No. Are there rallies? Sure but it doesn’t change anything. Meetings? You betcha, but the school board members just sit there and usher one person after another after another who want to berate them about this pay discrepancy and at the end of it all they go home kick their feet back and pour a drink, why? Because they have no fear at all that these people will do anything about it at all and quite frankly I fully expect nobody is going to get fired or un-elected because of this next election cycle either. Why? Again because it hasn’t kicked ENOUGH people square where it hurts. This is government malfeasance, LOCAL government malfeasance and locally it doesn’t appear that anything will be done about it. They do not FEAR you.
So lets take this nationally. Yes, food prices are pushing many Americans to have to rethink how they budget for things. Maybe little Aeden, Jayden and Brayden can’t do something they used to do like join the local soccer or football league because that monthly fee needs to instead go toward standard living expenses. Or it could be much more serious and a family is trying to figure out medical costs for a serious procedure because they were just barely getting by before the rent increases, food increases, gas increases, and since when did everything become so expensive? And God help anyone that rents because prices across the board are going up there as well. Wages aren’t increasing and more and more it is looking like you are lucky to have a job much less get compensated fairly to keep your standard of living while doing it. This hurts, but not enough yet. And who are the people going to blame once they do wake up? That I am unsure about personally. Especially for anyone who hasn’t been politically active in the last 8 years or so. There are a lot of moving parts, and a good summation is that the Republican party is the same party as the Democrat party the only thing the two seem to disagree on is SPEED, the direction is already determined.
A grand wrapup is this. It seems to be our job as the people that are awake to assist these normies who are coming out of hibernation in the gentlest way possible. To guide them toward seeing what is real and not and doing so SLOWLY. If we shock them they will go either right back to sleep again or join our enemy. This is literally now conservative evangelism plain and simple. Build relationships with these people ask questions see how they answer and gently lead them where we they need to go, and they will go there because unlike the jwhorenalist media we have actual truth on our side. We have answers that make sense, they do not.
That was about as apt and accurate a breakdown of the realities we currently face as I’ve seen in quite a while.
I was never a member of the Tea Party and never claimed to be. I do not personally know anyone who would call themselves a ‘Tea Party’ member.
Even so, I strongly agree with the vast majority of what are generally considered ‘Tea Party’ policies. Because those policies are strongly Conservative and I’ve been a Conservative advocate of those policies since long before anyone ever heard of the Tea Party. The way I see it, I didn’t join the Tea Party, the Tea Party joined me. I don’t need to join the Tea Party but I’m very glad of the allies it brings to the Conservative cause.
Like so many things, the Left has ridiculed and demonized the Tea Party as a bunch of old white kooky people. They’ve been successful in doing so. Because the Left is all about group think. So all they need to do to nullify whatever you have to say is lump you into a group that’s been de-fanged with ridicule and demonization.
In outside forums discussing political realities with non-Conservatives I run into this a lot. Less now but it still happens. When I point out their mistaken assumption that I’m a ‘Tea Party’ member it tends to pull the carpet out from under the derisive dismissal.
The Right is catching onto this Leftist practice of grouping people and ridiculing them for the practices of the group as a whole. We see this with things like calling them all “Groomers” and … They really hate that.
Eventually this return fire will have an effect. Democrats are no more universally Groomers than Conservatives are universally ‘racists’.* It’s the same tactic they use turned back against them.
*(By which I mean that finding a few far right white supremacist nutjobs who vote for Republicans and calling us all racist is no more valid than finding a few purple haired, nose-ringed landwhale teachers on TikTok makes every Democrat a supporter of grooming children. They’re not. But they don’t like being called groomers anymore than we like being labeled as racists.)
The group derision works as well for us as it does for them. When some smartass punk says “OK, Boomer” to me I immediately fire back with “No problem, Groomer”. Because it’s exactly the same sort of thing. There are many on the Left that are lost to reason and our reasoning will never have any impact on that sort. It just won’t and no amount of reality served up hot and steaming is ever going to affect that type.
Then there are the rest of Americans who are not like that. Those are the people we can hope to reach. People who think voting for a Democrat demonstrates their care and compassion. Who have been told that voting Republican is tantamount to a pact with Satan himself. Those people don’t want anyone thinking of them as ”Groomers”.
Those are the people who are reading the comments in a forum of some sort but not arguing for the party that wants to groom kids to become deviant thralls and doesn’t advocate putting deviant men into women’s restrooms and locker rooms.
That type of person is willing to suspend their views of reality to compliment their self-image of being “good people” by voting for Democrats who portray themselves as ‘caring and compassionate’. The whole dynamic changes when you call someone who IS arguing for all manner of deviancy a “Groomer”.
Those un-obvious types are the people we’re trying to reach. The more rock-ribbed pure the Conservative ideology one of us insists on spouting the further they drive those people into the hands of the enemy.
The trick is to portray the Left as every bit as bad as it really is while at the same time being kind and understanding to the type of people who really do want to do what’s best. The Left has lied to and manipulated those people for a very long time and very, very effectively. If you don’t get a chance to talk to that kind of person you will never undo the manipulations of the Left.
At the same time, if you do get a chance to talk to them and you insist that everyone in the country become an ideologically pure Conservative all you do is confirm their already considerable bias.
The best policy is to have a real two-way conversation with them and point out the flaws in the Leftist ideology that they have subscribed to. While you do that opportunities will arise to gently and kindly nudge them towards Conservative viewpoints.
You won’t win over every single person you speak to in this regard, but you will plant seeds of doubt about what they think they believe while at the same time not driving them by main force back into the camp of the enemy.
People who go all bellicose over Conservative ideology are the exact opposite side of the coin of Leftist virtue signalers. Where the Leftist is saying “Look at what a wonderful, amazing, stupendous, caring person I am.” the bellicose Conservative is saying “Look what a pure and wonderful Conservative I am. If you’re not equally pure and wonderful in your Conservative view points you’re the enemy and dead to me.”.
Virtue signaling is virtue signaling no matter how it’s done. It is the opposite of actual virtue no matter who does it.

The solution is to rightfully terrify people that their freedom is a whisker from being lost to communists who won’t hesitate to shoot them in front of their family and may rig 2024 to do it. It’s not hard. The evidence is there, and my beef and Steven Crowder’s beef with Ben Shapiro and “Big Con” as Crowder termed it is they don’t have the balls to call it out so we’re left doing it ourselves.

I think the answer is simple, power and money. How is it that people get elected to Congress, earn around 200,000 a year IIRC, yet when they leave office, they’re all multi million-aires? How does that work?
Corruption is at the forefront of American politics, they don’t even bother trying to hide it anymore. Why? Because NO ONE is ever held accountable for what they’ve done anymore, it’s fucking pathetic.
I get that “politicians” as a general rule have neither the intelligence nor the scruples to make it in the real world. (there are exceptions (entirely too few)) such that “politicians lie” was successfully used as a defense to a lawsuit brought by voters unhappy about broken campaign promises. I even get that DC has the ability to turn relatively honest people into crooks. What I don’t get is the “party leadership” not even paying lip service to giving a damn that the people registered with that party aren’t going to vote for them, if they keep operating the way they are WRT policy. It’s not even that “we” aren’t voting for crooks, you have to if you want to vote; but that “we” aren’t going to vote for rino crooks. You can still be a corrupt SOB on the back end, but support and defend the Constitution on the policy side… only they don’t.
Communists don’t care about the Constitution. Lies and hypocrisy are stock-in-trade for these con artists stealing your freedom by any means necessary while Americans naively fail to realize they are under attack by enemies to whom they continue to give the benefit of the doubt in good faith as the phenomenal people they are otherwise busy with life, family and friends.
