In defense of President Trump

Can you help me find some video clips of Pres. Trump showing his sincere human side? I’m trying disavow my lifelong socialist Mother of her beliefs that he is an inhuman, misogynist, racist xenophobe, etc etc. People like her never see him speak in full context, and they never see him in situations that put him in a good light, such as 2019’s Black History Month event at the White House. If you can hep me find clips to counter this terrible leftist narrative lie of Orange Man Bad that would be fantastic. Thanks!

Scott – I tried posting another reply to this post but it has not appeared. I tried posting it a second time and ater hitting Post Comment I saw it said “awaiting approval” or something. I’ve never seen that before. Was it because what I as trying to post was long and included 5 links? I was actually trying to post what I ended up replying to my Mom

It is probably the links as all your other posts are showing.
Try with just one or put the link info without the “link” part and see if that works.
And I read political speeches rather than watching them. Have her read the text of the speech at Mt. Rushmore. Then have her watch it. It was pretty short.
If you can find the clip with Kanye and Kim and then of the woman whose sentence he commuted, that would be a good one. Almost 2 years old I should think.

As I mentioned to Martin privately, yes, the comment was held for moderation due to the numerous external links which got it flagged as spam. It is now published and visible here.

Consider showing her one of his past State of the Union addresses. I recall those being very personable and showing the human good that Trump’s leadership is doing.

i think in this situation longer pieces are too much. I’d use them if I had already made some dents in her armor though.

I would not use google to find anything positive about Trump. I used https://duckduckgo.com/ to search for things I had remembered. Over the years you had to be pretty much listening for ANYTHING positive about Trump but I know there are more out there but here are a couple that came to mind.

I also remember a video by a black woman employed by the Trump business that talked about how Trump helped as her as she battled addiction. I could not find that video any more.
Honestly, there are WAY more negative than positive stories available on DJT on the internet. I do understand the desire to want to present some positive stuff. But the reality of today’s democrats, media and what some people call “fact checkers” is Donald Trump could come up with a cure for cancer and it would be spun negatively. Not to mention people are being absolutely deceived and manipulated by the media.

Good luck with your mom Martin. Been through that with a number of people, friends. The only family (of my youth) I have left is a sister who I would not bring up the subject with if I ever wanted to speak to her again. It really is that bad and we have tried before.

THIS is what I wrote in reply to my Mom:
how do you think sending me a snarky opinion piece like that is going to convince me that Trump is a bad guy? The trouble is that the writer – and you – have never once seen Trump in context, and you’ve only ever seen him in carefully edited clips accompanied by commentary to put the worst possible context on whatever he says. I’m sure you’ve never watched an entire Trump press conference because its enlightening to see them in full and in context to get a truer picture of things. I’m also sure you’ve never seen him with black americans or other minority americans either. I’m also sure his actual record of things he’s done is distorted in the news you see too. Before this virus hit his measures had reduced the african american unemployment rate to its lowest level ever. Likewise the latino and asian american employment rates were lower than ever since records began. Women’s unemployment was the lowest since WW2. The poverty rates for african americans and latinos was the lowest it has ever been. He passed a criminal reform bill that meant that record numbers of black americans who had been given punitive prison sentences for minor things like marijuana possession were set free. I could go on with loads more actual data about what he has done but perhaps showing you what he’s actually like in context can disavoy you of the ideas that he’s a racist, misogynist, inhuman xenophobe.

Why would you need help trying to convince your mother? If she’s as Leftist as you say, what will showing clips of our President really accomplish? Are you sure she will even watch such clips? Would you be able to force her to do so? What if she doesn’t care but is convinced of her own opinions?
I’ve watched many White House meetings and clips of our president showing respect and personal caring for us and others of all races and creeds. Your request seems very suspicious to me because in it you had to list so many of her NEGATIVE opinions about our POTUS. Just saying she doesn’t like the president would have been sufficient.

i don’t understand the suspicious aspect. I’ve converted 2 people from leftism to become independent thinkers. One of them took a couple of years around the time Chairman Zero started campaigning for president. The other took a few months and he went from Bernie Bro to Trump supporter. It is possible. And converting as many as possible should be the aim of all of us on this side, especially fans of Bill

Martin, when my father died, my mom was filled with depression, fear, anger and more. She decided to move to the left side, voted for obummer twice and became more depressed, and angry.
The last time she started to bash the POTUS, I didn’t push anything on her, but I did tell her that all that hatred inside of her for him was not good for her soul and the grudge she held would be the heaviest thing she would ever carry.
Only then did she start to look at the things our president was doing and at the same time that he was fighting for the good of the people against the odds. She was not angry anymore and the words I needed to hear from her came last year, she would vote for Trump. Then she died 4 months later without the hate.

Don’t have any links for you, but I remember reading multiple accounts of his doing very quiet, reasonably substantial donations to help people in need. I wonder if anybody on the Trump campaign would be able to give you some leads. (I just tried Googling and only came up with Orange Man Bad.”

there was another WH meeting but I can’t find it. It was the (East) Indian business and community leaders or some such, and it was another big mutual admiration fest, showing Trump in a context that the brainwashed never get to see. Thing is when you insert the word Indian into searches it invariably links either to Trump’s India visit or to American Indian links
