Apropos of Bill’s recent mention of the vessel Boaty McBoatface, I commend to the attention of my fellow deplorables the article at Wikipedia. (The article is named something else that “Boaty McBoatface” redirects to.) It includes not only a history of the vessel and its naming contest, but some subsequent naming contests and their winners.
Some of these made me laugh out loud. Starting with Boaty’s origins in being named after an owl named “Hooty McOwlface,” to citations to genuine articles with headlines such as “Boaty McBoatface makes major climate change discovery on maiden outing,” the article is a masterpiece of its genre.

Apparently the Air Force was doing a similar naming contest for their new B-21 bomber (among it’s troops, mind you, first mistake there), and got all sorts of wrongness, including my favorite, “Nukey McMeltface.”
. . . aaaand US troops FTW!
