Please advise. What would be a good book to pair with the movie, Our Man In Havana, introducing the cold war to a GenXer? I am searching for a companion book to go along with, Our Man in Havana. I am giving this as an inter office Christmas gift to a GeneX fellow employee. I made a reference to the movie and it was lost on him but he was intrigued by my description of the movie and Bill’s The Cold War: What We Saw, but not enough to put money down on Daily Wire. However I hope to nurture the interest.
Late to the party, but when I saw this on YouTube, I re-upped my Bill Whittle membership after having withdrawn due to personal finance issues about a year ago. Outstanding idea that I want to support even in my small membership way.
As a long time member of BW, all I can say is thanks for coming back. That Invisible and Bill’s months long effort to produce that animation resulted in two amazing shows and I’m sure more new members too.
Webmaster, when you click on the watch on youtube on this video or if you go to youtube to watch the chapter 1, the videos are still the old version with the democratic party headquarters. Even the “imbedded” chapter 1. video at the end of Invisible on youtube takes you to the old version.
This new version isn’t there at all. Can the other one on youtube be replaced or changed to the new version?
Totally agree. This is why I mostly watch Cozy TV and Nick Fuentes. True conservative principles, hilarious and has captured a huge youth market. Anthony Cumia recently came onboard. Be more like Cozy or plead to get on Cozy.
I like the overall concept and Zo’s voice is perfection, but I would definitely drop the Shakespeare influence. I don’t think it helps with making this appealing.
Zo is a legendary character! I love this concept, glad to see what you’ve been talking about all of this time. My suggestion would be to use more subtlety. Think of Star Wars, it was obvious who the bad guys were without actually calling them Communists. The Empire clearly didn’t care about individuals or about life. The Empire only cared about power and blind obedience. The delineation between good and bad was easy to discern. I suggest following a similar tract rather that calling out the DNC so vividly. Let the audience figure it out.
I was really hoping to see the storytelling that would draw in the intended audience. I’m not sure putting in a easy screen shot for the opposition to use to put off the target audience was good judgement.
I am a long-time member and a longer-time fan. I have always supported this idea of reaching for a larger audience through movies and/or games. I think shifting the focus to gaming is definitely the right thing at the right time, especially since others are trying to step into the film-making space.
But please tell me that the intended audience for this was us, not gamers.
Your sci-fi series is going to be subtle, right?
That said, if I was the audience, then this was a home run. Great stuff! I will contribute some extra to the project.
Query letters were advised when wanting support for a novel idea and the chance to write something for future publication. What are the odds that you could use your ideas in the ‘invisible” video by using query letters to get some major conservative financiers to build that cgi studio? I can see the monumental value of what you want to do to bring the purple gamer people in!! Think conservatives wanting to support this who have the wisdom to see your vision and the will to let you develop it. That is my hope and of course I will support your effort as much as I am able. You are one of my heroes, Bill.Keep at it!!
There’s inane YouTube, insane YouTube, and then there’s us. Inane YouTube dominates.
What’s the difference between inane Youtube, & insane Youtube? 😀
Often nothing. But basically it’s the difference between “Ow, My Balls!” and people spouting off when they’re on the far left side of the Dunning Krueger curve.
Good Work Bill. From the very middle of the tiny orange wedge on the pie, I say yes, I’d like to take a really big byte of the purple blue berry goo on the rest of that pie. I think your video and future videos can help.
Just now, I made the decision to swap 10 Peets Coffee Medium Vanilla latte’s and the accompanying bacon cheddar brioche for a donation to the cause. A pittance I know, but if 3000 to 10000 of us all spit in the bucket, know what we get? A bucket overflowing with spit! Every little bit of spit helps.
Great work. Animation is hard, and learning to animate well is even harder, and rendering is worse than sitting on the 405. But you combined all that effort PLUS digital cinematography (60 cameras !) and writing, directing and screenplay….amazing!
You know, Andrew was right, so many years ago at CPAC when he said to the interviewer that you’re “The General”….you just needed to afford an army behind you, executing well and now, years later, you just may get it.
Congratulations.
I also have had some acting experience, and similar role playing. I can do many accents and imitations. Accents: Scottish, Irish, Italian, Swedish, India, Southern (to be precise, Kentucky/Tennesee border) Cajun, and almost happy with my Russian. Can sound like: Arnold Swarzenegger, James Earl Jones (as Darth Vader or himself) Slow Poke Rodriguez from Loony Toons, and the London Molari character from Babylon 5. Also from role playing, have a voice for a villain I trotted out every so often that is fairly deep, and sounds both menacing and arrogant. When my co role-playing cohorts heard it, they knew they were in for a hard time.
If needed, I know I could create some sound files and send them via e-mail (given time)
Bill, I am available, but limited on time if you want to use my talents.
Wow. Great intro video and then a great animation video! Couldn’t be better. I’m passing it on to friends and family, and I’m donating a part of my 1999 Buick Park Avenue. When I junk it. (smile)
Excellent piece of entertainment! The second and third time through really reveal the dialog subtleties. Support is on the way. Keep up the fantastic work! Zo rocks!
Have to say, Zo is a superior voice talent.
Yet. It’s the only word that matters. We are here to help you do just that, Bill.
Bravo! Great idea and wonderful work!
Sent the link to some friends and family. I recently changed jobs and I’m the new guy at work so haven’t gotten to recommending to anyone there yet but will soon.
I am posting it on all the major twitter player’s feeds, trying to get any of the big names, like Poso, Crowder, Lotus Eaters to check it out, if you have the ability, please as a community, utilize super chats to get this in front of some of the big Youtube channels.
Hey Bill and @Scott-Ott, by releasing the video the way you did, it did not show up independently in your channel feed, because of this you basically released this privately, only to the audience that watches the first video, it basically hides it on youtube.
This movie release was only for members…and those who donate.
this animation had me entranced – then the ending hit- i am still laughing. but the potential for spreading conservative values is there for the target audience. because of this vision i just upgraded my membership to the next level. good one Bill – and Kudo’s to Alfonzo- excellent performance
I am currently an Annual Producing Member @BillWhittle.com. Is that membership contributing to this effort or is the money needed this project separate?
Been a long time fan of your work on YouTube for a while now. I had been meaning to sub to your content for a while now, but hadn’t gotten to it until now. Best of luck with your new endeavor and you got yourself a new annual subscriber.
Godspeed Bill! I pray that this endeavor succeeds. I really enjoyed the animation, it is every impressive what you were able to learn in 6 to 8 months around this stuff. Can’t wait to see your work get more polished as you continue!
I lost it around 14.27 : “They refer to themselves as asses?”
Democrat symbol is a donkey.
Hence … my outburst of laughter.
Sorry I misread your comment. Cheers.
I also noted you only kill those who pose a threat to you with a deadly weapon. Nice deep thought touch.
Can I get more swordplay please? BTW loved the ogre in the tattered dress…..
(only thing that would make it better is some……
COWBELL!)
I too would enjoy more sword play in the future but I think that stuff takes up a lot more time then the other stuff.
Excellent!
Bill,
I have been a huge fan for many years. I told you once in an email several years ago that you were the best spokesman for the conservative movement in America … bar none. I still believe that today.
I love the concept of what you are trying to do and agree that we need to somehow reach that now seemingly unreachable audience.
With the few young people I know (who play games) I failed to see how you will keep their attention long enough to get the message at the end. I was not a particular fan of this video because I don’t see how it will capture their attention, but I am totally in support of the concept. Please understand, I’m not being critical. I could not even attempt to do what you have done, much less improve on it. It is just my initial observation.
I feel like I know you (even though I don’t) and I know that you are capable of finding the right way to get the message across. I am sending a small donation via PayPal to keep this effort and dream alive.
Best regards,
Steve Mishket
As I love you and Zo both, you badly need to learn to be fluent in conversational Middle English.
To be fair, that’s the biggest flaw facing ANY American who attempts Shakespeare. Middle English is a foreign language that is so similar to what we speak that we think we already know it.
Trust me on this one, I learned it the hard way. I once had a Malaysian girl (who spoke English very well) express envy of me because I had done Shakespeare. I told her not to be envious, because I had done Shakespeare in Southeast Texas. She has never been in Texas, so she did not understand and asked me what I meant. I will attempt to render my answer in print, but you can’t really fully experience the tragedy of it unless you hear it spoken:
“Whut laht thew yawnder winder brakes.”
She heard that and said, “Oh… never mind.”
Also, when stealing lines from Shakespeare, it is important to understand and remember the idea of Iambic Pentameter. Most of Shakespeare isn’t actually prose, it’s poetry, written in Iambic Pentameter.
Iambic – pairs of syllables in which the second syllable is the one stressed.
Pentameter – Consisting of five pairs.
Thus,
deDAH deDAH deDAH deDAH deDAH.
As in,
“The course of true love never did run smooth.” (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I 1)
or
“Now entertain conjecture of a time” (Henry V, IV Prologue)
Most lines cribbed from Shakespeare are much more likely to flow the way they were intended to if spoken in Iambic Pentameter.
Should check with Tim Pool…
Bill Whittle, I wish you the best of luck with this and even if it scratches the boundaries it is worth a try. God Speed.
As a long-time Ren Faire goer, I love the Elizabethan. Insults carry so much more punch! The animation and voiceovers are superbly done.
I just have one criticism… Would it be better to display the Latin or Greek on the dark castle as opposed to English and flip the dialog? It might be better to let the full cat out of the bag in a later episode. I say this because people are tired of politics being inserted into everything. If they come to the realization on their own through more subtle messaging, I think it would have more of an individual impact. Just a thought as I don’t what your timeline or plans are for this series.
Yes, definitely. Serve with a spoon, not with a shovel.
Our enemies got here by being subtle and playing a long game. We need to do the same.
But surely our Good Knight would recognize that with the hinges of the gate on the outside, that the gate would swing out rather than in?
And of course the gate is locked! That horrid land is under a pandemic lockdown. The virus of insanity has ravaged all who dwell there.
Bill. I believe that you may have just hit it out of the park. I am sure this will tweak the hearts of gamers .
I am SO impressed…not unexpectedly, but…The wait has been worth it. Bill and Zo (and Sir Shakespeare) are creating entertainment with a sorely needed message.
I watched, riveted, the first time right here, and the second time over at You Tube. This is the comment I left there:
connectwmeOk – you guys have created entertainment worth watching! Beautiful animation, acting is a cut above, dialogue is superb – how could it not be with Shakespeare as co-writer, message is subtle but clear, and best of all I was riveted by every scene right up to “to be continued”. I will gladly contribute to this effort and thank you for giving me the opportunity to do so.
Heck of a job, Bill and Zo.
Looking forward to higher heights.
Love it Bill! Great idea.
This is exciting… and I love the thought behind this new venture!
If you need additional voice talent, I would love to be a part of this. I’m an actor, and I’d be happy to voice any additional character or characters for this project. Happy? I’d be thrilled. Please let me know if I can be of service!
Same here. I have never acted professionally, but have done scads of amateur work, and would be happy to contribute to this. I’m not sure how I would go about making an audition audio file, but if you want one, I’ll find a way.
