Is AOC a disposable stalking horse for Dems?

Something is hinky in Demland. I think we are witnessing a sneaky strategy, as old as the hills yet people seem to constantly be surprised by it.

Imagine yourself a Democrat/Progressive/Socialist, beavering away at destroying the foundations of free and independent America. You have to move public opinion as far to the Left as possible, and get your people elected to positions of power. You know where you want to be, but you can’t get there in one jump (because you would be torn from your home and shot). What to do?

Well, you do the same thing your side has been doing for 100 years: roll the big stone ball to the Left, a little or a lot, it doesn’t matter, but it has to go Left.

You face a brick wall politically. There are two entrenched sides, and neither wants to give an inch. Okay, but we still have to move the ball, so here’s what we’ll do: we’ll promote (out of the wide unknown) a charismatic young person, a female and a person of color (of course) full of soda and vinegar and crazy ideas that are as far out there as anybody can imagine. She will want free college, no fossil fuels at all, reparations, wealth redistribution, abortion for everybody (on both ends of the knife), and every other fantastical dream that Socialists have ever imagined.

Get her elected to Congress, get the media to keep her front and center in the news, have her introduce  a new FDR-esque plan with every piece of the Nationalsozialistische wishlist in place, hold press conferences that let everybody in the country know about it — and then let all the rabble that are running for office comment on it. What do they like? What probably isn’t possible (just yet)?

And then get rid of her. Because she’s a dangerous loon.

What have you gained? Well, you rolled the big rock further to the Left. “Reasonable” candidates sound almost normal now, as they position themselves to support aspects of the so-called Green New Deal (GND). Eventually they’ll introduce another, more “moderate” version, and the electorate will nod their heads in unison and say, “Well, that’s pretty reasonable, I guess, we’ll do that.”

And we all limp leftward another notch of the ratchet.

We have seen every step of this strategy play out for real. At least 44 Democrats have endorsed all or part of the GND as they jockey with each other for supremacy in 2020. But what about that last part, the “getting rid of” thing?

Take a look at this article in the Washington Examiner. Here’s a taste:

Two political action committees founded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday.

[snip]

The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions from federal PACs to candidates, according to the complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

Steven Ahle, at the David Harris Jr blog, had this to say:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, are looking at possible prison sentences over major violations in election law. For those of you that may not know, if you coordinate with a PAC that supports you in an election, it is a major election violation. AOC and her chief of staff went far beyond even that. They actually ran the PAC, which is far worse than coordinating with a PAC. Former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said that opens up AOC for major campaign violations, including receiving illegal campaign contributions.

Now I ask you, how difficult would it have been for a small amount of cash to be directed at Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti, knowing them as they do, in the expectation that it would blow up in their faces?

What a convenient, slick way to dispose of an inconvenient crazy loon who had fulfilled her purpose and was now expendible.

Hmmm.

Absolutely. If it comes to that, as they say, “Blue helmets make great targets”.

If you add in that the congressman she replaced by successfully beating him in the PRIMARY was the heir apparent to Pelosi; something really starts to smell. I have never understood how she won. She has to resign and Crowley steps back in as the “voice of reason”.
