There is a lot of anti-Catholic bigotry out there. When these cases came out in the press I was suspicious of it being both bigotry and that the victims were victims of “repressed memory therapy” which caused them to create the abuse in their “memory” and to honestly believe it.
I have since come to understand that the abuse “uncovered” by the Boston Globe was the tip of the iceberg and that the bishops have lied and covered up their “Lavender Mafia” ever since. They did not clean it up. They did not stop it. Even the “good” bishops won’t speak up. Just in the last month there have been reports and journalistic stings showing more abuse.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to clean up His Church and His Seminaries.
p.s. the rate of abuse in the Catholic Church is similar to other institutions such as public schools. But the proportion of homosexual abuse is beyond egregious, and the abuse of authority at all levels is quite possibly unforgivable by humans. Clergy and hierarchy should be held to a considerably higher standard than even schoolteachers.

My problem with the media is that there is no reporting on the other institutions. In fact, they cover it up. They demonize Catholic priests while condoning the same behavior as the Catholic bishops.
My other issues with context are as follows. Yes, I’m sure we’ll see stories continue to come to light as you mention, but are these old stories or new stories? How do they relate to our other institutions? What is being done (or has been done) to correct the problem in the Catholic Church and these other institutions? How did we get here? How do we prevent it (not grooming children by oversexualizing them in public school would be a start!)?
Quite frankly, I’m a little surprised that they haven’t dug further into the past. Apparently, it’s been occurring for centuries, though the Catholic Church does deserve credit for bringing the practice in ancient Rome to a place where it was frowned upon. I need to search for my sources when I have a minute.
Any honest journalist would be self-motivated to ask and answer these questions. Instead, we have NBC killing the Harvey Weinstein story. Ronan Farrow who helped to break the story needed to take it to the New Yorker.

There’s also video of a network news anchor lamenting the fact that she had everything they needed but the network wouldn’t allow her to report the story. Don’t remember her name offhand.
Clearly, they have an agenda, and that’s why they’re railing against Catholicism. The Marxists hate Christianity as they hate the truth. I never realized why Christ described Himself as the Way, the Truth and the LIfe, but I do now. I’ve never seen the truth under such assault on the truth both in the news and in the form of Christ and Christianity.
Any bishops/hierarchy still covering for it should be held accountable. They are severely damaging the reputation of the Catholic Church. But this is another trick the fake news leftists play. They put words in our mouth by building a strawman argument, claiming that we’re pro-pedophile if we dare to request context and facts.
They do the same thing with everything. Strawmen are their specialty. Want a border? You’re a racist! Defending Trump? You’re a white supremacist! Catholic? You hate gay people! Reasonable drunk driving laws? You want to kill children! “Hate has no home here.” So all Trump supporters are clearly hateful bigots.
…and on and on and on…
Finally, we’ve learned their schtick and stopped apologizing, and that’s a sure sign that we’re winning. Watch as they get crazier and crazier over the next year. I’m sure the propaganda will be cranked up to 12 before the midterms demonizing anyone who dares to vote for Republicans in general but especially anti-establishment candidates.

Heh, I was about to tell you to check out STMM/CM. I subscribed there recently and really have enjoyed (if that is the right word, since much of it is horrifying) their coverage of the Bishops’ meeting in Baltimore this week and their prayer rally opposite.
I also pray with STMM/CM almost daily for their morning and evening chapel prayer (rosary and Liturgy of the Hours) that they livestream. It’s made a big difference for me, the fruits just keep multiplying.
I wish that STMM/CM had a forum or a way for subscribers to communicate with each other beyond Disqus, which I dislike intensely.

Michael Voris is illuminating an area of our faith the existence of which I think many of us suspected due to the disconnect between laity and clergy administration but were unaware. Very similar to the disconnect between everyday citizen and government.
I like STMM/CM a lot due to their genuine nature. No hidden agenda that I detect. If their goal is domination from the underdog position, I don’t see it.
Disqus is the worst. I recently had a post here thrown into question. I checked and the number of links wasn’t it as I had another with more links which went right through. So it was either the content or maybe one of my links to Rumble. But I get to be a “rebel,” so there’s that. Lol.
So much to learn is true. Instant access to the world is like trying to read all of the libraries much less your local one.

I really love SMM/CM because their news reports always prefix the names of politicians with descriptors such as “Catholic,” “Fake Catholic,” or best of all, “Unelected.”
IMO they have a definite bias, which is personal, because of damaging personal experiences of many of the individuals who work there. But even taking that bias into account, their reporting is almost always objectively true, with very little spin.
As for spiritual warfare, well. I don’t have time to write that essay this morning.

Lauren Southern does some wonderful reporting. She also did documentaries on the migrant crisis in Europe and the farmers being killed in Africa by the tolerant left. One family there had a baby burned alive while the mother was raped and the toddler was tortured and drowned in the bathtub. Truly evil.
