Look into a mirror

A lot of cartoons like this are floating up in the swamps of the internet, after the events of the past week.

However, as true as this is, the socialist left isn’t the root cause.

We are.

We didn’t educate our children. We didn’t ensure that our children educated their children. We got fat and complacent. We blinded ourselves to danger. Danger is uncomfortable. We are civilized, we have no need for discomfort. We looked at the future with eyes that refused to see.

Now what?

Business as usual is not an option. At least, not for long.

The system points to a resized duplicate of the image you upload, used as a thumbnail, that is only 150×150 pixels. Select the image you just added, choose the pencil tool to get at the general options tab, and edit the source to remove the “-150×150” at the end of it. This will point to the original, full size image.

Then set the display size you want under dimensions. 600 pixels for the width (left number) is the normal display size. Enter that in that box, just click on the height box next to and it will autofill with the right number to keep the aspect ratio. Ignore the “Constrain proportions”, it doesn’t seem to work (or matter). Hit OK to get back to the editing bar, and select the “centered” icon.

That should do it. You can also set other sizes and place them at the left or right (or centered) with text flowing around the image. If you do that, go back into the “advanced” rather than “general” tab and put 10 pixels into the vertical space, border width, and horizontal space boxes.

Just remember to remove the “-150×150” part of the source filename, unless you like blocky, expanded pixels. The image will still be linked to clickthru to the full image size in any case (your 600-wide image will click to the full size one, whatever its dimension).

I hope this is clear. When you upload an image, two are created, one for use as a thumbnail.

Feel free, or I could edit it to make it more clear to everybody.

And notice that the comment system is still screwed up. You likely just replied to me, according to the notifications, but I can’t see my older reply or your newer one. Some hours later it should show up.

Yep. It’s frustrating, during the day I use antiquated technology to tell when comments are actually available but nights and weekends I’m generally on an iPad where I don’t have it.

For those who haven’t heard, I apologize for the quirky comments and I’m working hard behind the scenes to ameliorate. Somethings can happen in parallel and some must happen in sequence. This is one of the latter. Thanks for soldiering on. It will get better.

Thanks for all you’re doing to make everything run smoothly! I know from experience that’s no easy task.
