Gotta agree with what Steve said regarding the settlement. It sounds to me like the professor got almost everything he could have hoped to get in a successful verdict. Which means that this issue goes much deeper and a trial would have meant discovery of a much wider university policy.

It seems odd to me that there are no kids out there; as Scott Adams says: “Embracing the insanity”. In other words going all out on this craziness. It would really be great to see some kid wear a crown, scepter and purple robe to school and demand that everyone refer to him as “Your Royal Highness”, or that some kid get a copy of Huckleberry Finn and start demanding that everyone call him “Ni**er Jim”.
If everyone “embraced the insanity” as Scott Adams says; and ALL men started using the women’s rest rooms and changing rooms and shower rooms; all this BS would disappear in a week.
Regarding Steve’s comment about not knowing what was past the tipping point, the following quip comes to mind:

If someone wants to play act that they’re another gender than their chromosomal makeup delineates, I don’t care. I don’t want anything to do with them either, their view of the world and mine are totally incompatible.
I cannot be forced to play act out their worldview because doing so forces me to abandon my own worldview. Which I flat-out refuse to do and thanks anyway.
Not only do I refuse to play along and thereby cannot be forced to do so, but it is WRONG to attempt to coerce me to abandon my own worldview and principles in favor of those of any other person.
That is giving the other person more rights than I have. Therein lies the whole crux of this LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ:; situation. The Left wants badly to either take away rights of normal people and give them to the abnormal or to grant the abnormal greater rights than normal people.
The mechanism they use to do this is unmerited shame. You’re a “nice person” and a “good person” if you give up your right to your own worldview and adopt theirs and you’re a “bad person”, a “bigot” and a “transphobe/homophobe” or any number of other derogatory invented inaccurate words they can heap on you.
As Bill often points out, it is the extremes that prove or disprove the case. The Left is running out of lesser causes and in order to remain relevant must needs resort now to increasingly greater extremes. As they do that they continually butt up against the wall of reality and awaken the majority population who bestirs itself, has a look and says …
“That’s just crazy so no, you can’t do that.”
That seems to be why this case, and others, turn on religious freedom or coerced speech. There are only so many things that a person can be compelled to do and only certain things you can be compelled to say.

These are some truths that ought to be self-evident, but apparently no longer are.
Perhaps I’m wrong, but I believe the left is high-level gaslighting. They have successfully indoctrinated young minds, starting earlier and earlier in age, to believe absolute lies and nonsense, who then proselytize for the left with all the brain-washed belief they possess. This is a religion – truth, proof and common sense are not required – just blind faith.
I’d go even further than that. There are extremely rare but not non-existent situations where something goes wrong during the processes occurring between fertilization and birth that result in a viable human being of ambiguous physical characteristics. Hermaphrodites are one example but there are others.
The Left often uses these very exceedingly rare cases for examples as if they were vaguely commonplace. They’re not commonplace at all but we have seen how the rot of Leftist ideology can spread given the slightest crack in which to take root. In less than a generation the “transgender” population has increased by orders of magnitude because the Left made it a popular victimhood.
There is one unequivocal, unmistakeable, irrevocable, unalterable test for which sex a person is. Males have an XY chromosome and females have an XX chromosome. The “Y” male chromosome is the second “X” chromosome in the female without one leg of the “X”. Females pass genetic traits female-to-female on that leg and males cannot do that because they don’t have that part of the second X.
If you want to get Biblical about it that leg of the Y chromosome is the “rib” God took from Adam to make Eve.
There is no way to alter or mask this genetic certainty. It abides literally in every single cell in your body and is an indelible, unalterable stamp proclaiming an individual’s sex as you say … forever.
And lest anyone forget… THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!
in the very unlikely extreme that you ever find yourself in such a situation tell the interrogator there are three lights. Or two, or six or anything but what he’s trying to make you say. He’ll know you’re mocking him by turning his lie back on him. It will strip his gears. He’ll probably hurt you for doing that but it will be worth it.
