The McSally Crisis
During the 2016 election I tried with vigorous persuasion to convince my fellow Arizonian conservatives that John McCain was not what they were voting for and that he shouldn’t be trusted. I in fact voted for Kelly Ward in the Primary and left the senate choice unmarked in the general. I could not vote for McCain nor could I vote for Kirkpatrick. I was proven right after the man who campaigned on border security for Arizona and to repeal and replace the ACA voted against funding for Trumps wall and was the deciding vote that left most of the ACA intact. In the end he outed himself as the Globalist I warned everyone he was.
During the 2018 midterms Martha McSally vacated her District 2 congressional seat to go all in on her campaign to claim Jeff Flake’s Senate seat. With the bad taste of McCain still in my mouth, McSally’s voting record and her previous vocal support for McCain I was weary that she may be of his ilk and would continue to further the globalist agenda dressed as a Conservative. I voiced my mistrust and concerns and again I voted for Kelly Ward. In the end McSally lost out to Kyrsten Sinema anyway. McSally was eventually taped to fill McCain’s seat after placeholder Jon Kyl stepped down.
Today McSally is running to keep her windfall position and what I have come to realize is that she may not be the Globalist I feared she could have been. She has demonstrated her loyalty to the Trump agenda, has the President’s support and his endorsement. Even with that I feel this may not be enough for a win against Mark Kelly. Not because of where she stands politically on any given issue. She is unelectable because she lacks charisma.
After watching her in a video clip calling a CNN reporter a “Partisan Hack” and a Fox news interview desperately trying to prop her up after the release of her book it is evident she lacks appeal. I point this out because rarely do people get elected because of their political stance on issues, they get elected because people relate to them. If you don’t have some level of charm voters get turned off. My fear now is that McSally will not be able to appeal to any moderates or undecideds only because she comes off as a sheet of cardboard. I don’t say this to insult her, I say this in hopes that she or someone in her campaign will realize her shortcoming bring in professional help to train her on her mannerisms and develop a level of charm that could get her elected.
There is still time before November to make the change and get her the help she needs. If they and she do not do this I will predict that her political career is over and Arizona will turn full blue in the US Senate.

I’ve thought the same thing about McSally on the charisma front. She never seems really agile on her feet or comfortable in front of the camera.
