Restaurant owner Alex Jordan’s satirical sign on his Redondo Beach business mocks the hypocrisy of Nanny Newsom flouting the COVID-19 rules he demands his royal subjects obey.

‘Eat at Joe’s’ restaurant owner Alex Jordan hangs a banner on his Redondo Beach restaurant, dubbing it ‘The French Laundry’ after California’s hypocrite Gov. Gavin Newsom enjoyed a pandemic meal at the legendary home of Chef Thomas Keller. Jordan’s satirical sign mocks the hypocrisy of Nanny Newsom flouting the COVID-19 rules he demands his royal subjects obey.

I recently saw a video (I think on Tucker Carlson’s show) of a young woman who owns a restaurant in LA county in CA. She spent thousands outfitting an outdoor marquee with everything the County govt. required for outdoor dining, only to be shut down on the eve of opening it up last weekend. Then she goes out into the parking area and sees a huge outdoor dining venue set up so a Hollywood production company could operate their catering activities. She was in tears, so frustrated and angry at the obvious favoritism shown to Hollywood cronies. My son-in-law tried to tell me that ‘it’s different, because the production company would be testing people and making sure they were in ‘a bubble’, whereas the restaurant would have random people and no control. I’m sorry, but that’s just an excuse. It’s Leftist govt. officials favoring their donors. The restaurant owner is right, this is corruption writ large.

“Ignorance is NEVER an excuse for Stupidity” which has morphed into “Stupid is Stupid” getting even MORE Stupid. The Democratic Socialist (OXYMORON) believes in ONLY 4 things: 1) THE IDEOLOGY, a myopic, delusional, corrupt and very destructive “philosophy,” the “fundamental transformation of America,” “INSIDE EVERY PROGRESSIVE IS A TOTALITARIAN SCREAMING TO GET OUT” and in their own individual “worth” as defined by them.

Well said Bill. I’m through putting up with these people. Do we remember the words “Let them eat cake?” Someone needs to remind this reprobate about those words.
Many of us Veterans did not take our oaths of office lightly and just because one retires does not mean the oath leaves us. Wink wink Lord Nuance.

The saying is “What cannot continue won’t” and this hypocritical business of closing businesses, telling people to stay home while you travel out of your state, or any of the rest of the two faced actions is nearing its end as people just get fed up.

When your business is on its last financial legs and your metaphorical back is against the metaphorical wall, people are going to ask “What do I have to lose?” and prepare to put any fines and charges into the Chapter 7 file if it comes to that.

I remember when all this started asking myself, “Why do politicians get to designate businesses as ‘essential’?” Letting politicians get away with that back in March was the first big mistake. All businesses are essential and no politician has THE RIGHT to tell you otherwise.

Scott, Please Let’s STOP calling them “Leaders”! That is one mind set that has gotten us into this mess! They are NOT our “Leaders” if WE own this country! What they’re doing is switching the roles as you three gladly bring out in this video. Public Servants! That is ALL they are.

Jon, I was thinking about this today. We’re being told this is all done to “Keep us safe.” My safety is not the responsibility of any politician. Their job is to keep me FREE–to keep foreign invaders and the government off my back, out of my way, and off my lawn. Beyond that, their job is to ensure my rights. Safety? Nope. That’s my responsibility. All these politicians need to get back in their lanes.

“BINGO!” You got it! (remember what Franklin said about “Liberty” given up for “Safety”…here we are) Using the word “leaders” in reference to politicians helps them get out of their places…as servants!

Relating to restaurant owners who will be shut down anyway – In the Navy we had a saying when we didn’t want to do something we were told to do; we’d say “So what if I don’t do it, what will they do to me? Put me on a destroyer out of Norfolk?” [we were already on a destroyer out of Norfolk]

In the Army we would say, “what are they going to do, stamp my meal card no dessert?”

That’s great! As she writes (below the video):

Both entertaining and informative!
I am a Californiaite, and downloaded the petition, as I saw no recognized petition signing place in my town (or anywhere nearby, I live in the desert).

Recently Mr. Green quoted Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead antagonist, Ellsworth Toohey, a villain whose motive is Power of a kind that transcends all material appetites. Toohey is a collectivist of the purest, darkest kind. He understands that his pursuit of mediocrity will constrain his own life in just the same way as all other lives shall be constrained. He does not care. To him, the ability to decide the limit of human potential, and then to see that limit enforced within the culture, is a Power so complete that even his own freedom ceases to be important.

It is easy to be distracted by hypocrite politicians who do not believe in the rules they enforce. The people we should be concerned with are the ones who do believe. Ellsworth Tooheys, genuine collectivists, are everywhere. They are not the ones who cheat the lockdown, they are the ones who adhere to it uncompromisingly, and demand that you do as well. They believe in the rule even when it is proved that the rulemakers do not believe in the rule, so long as all upon whom the rule is inflicted are brought equally low. That’s their power.

(I am reminded of a joke wherein a newly damned soul is given a tour of hell. He comes upon a vat of boiling oil wherein many souls are languishing, and when he asks why nobody is guarding them, it is explained that they are Communists, and that whenever one of them tries to climb out the others simply pull him in again)

One nit to pick with Scott – we don’t elect “Leaders” we elect “Servants”. Until we start treating them as such we will lose the power struggle.

What is depressing, is thinking the elites will pay for their crap at the voting booth…then they don’t. Then thinking the justice system will hold them accountable…then it doesn’t. A common mans right and ability to redress grievances under the law is disappearing at an alarming rate, whether it be for and by himself, or through a government representitive for a large group of citizens. When legal recourse is taken, what does that leave? Shall we simply allow ourselves to be led into a pen of slavery to a all powerful state? As it stands now, many have already…and the gate is closing.

The problem with the “voting booth” in California is that the public employee unions participate in such huge numbers that they make the rest of us irrelevant. It was a calculated strategy by the Left to unionize all public employees and then use them as an electoral hammer. It’s worked beyond even their wildest dreams with unassailable majorities in the Assembly and no state wide offices being held by even one Republican.

We moved out after being born and raised in socal from 1955 to 1998. Was a great place to live until around the 80’s, when it went to hell. So happy we did, since it has become increasingly worse since then.

My wife and I moved out LA in ’94 because of the crime, the Rodney king riots, and the Northridge earthquake. We still live on the “left” coast, about 75 miles north of that sh*thole they call Seattle. Luckily, most of that insanity hasn’t made it this far north yet.

At least you guys put some distance between you and the insanity. We moved to western Carolina, and love the mountains and streams. We daily have deer, turkey, bobcats and black bears come through our little acre of land. We also enjoy white squirrels, raccoons, hawks, owls and such to observe on the mountain where we settled. What a change from police helicopters, sirens, parks jammed with illegals blasting music and sleeping under the trees and on tables, not to mention the traffic and cost of living, drive-by shootings and gangs everywhere. Over time, our street looked more third world, with renters (section 8) moving in and bringing their blasting music, chickens and late nite parties, with their young children wandering the street often in diapers and nothing else. What a shame and disgrace this once great state has become.

Agreed, SO. CAL. was a great place to grow up in. I lived in Burbank and as a kid, I thought it was great. Not anymore! We have bald eagles, deer, raccoons, even bobcats in our neck of the woods. It is nice to live in a neighborhood that is quiet at night, and dark! You don’t realize how much light a big city puts outs at night until you turn off the bedroom light and think, shit, I can’t see anything!

Yes, we know Burbank well. One of our favorite places was the Castaways resturant. What a view!

We could see the castaway from our house, it’s also where my wife and I became engaged in 1980. We really miss Tommy’s and IN-N-OUT BURGER.

Those are some of the things we miss too, and we were all about 45 min. from the desert, the mountains and the sea. We also had some memorable events at the Castaway, what a damn shame it has been taken away by greedy, dishonest politicians, and those who vote for them.

The French Laundry isn’t for the “Little People” they can go to Taco Bell or pick up a hot dog at Costco while they wait in line for toilet paper. Comrade Newsom is doing his best for the Middle Class by merging it with the Lowest Class. The systematic destruction of the Small to Mid sized Entrepreneurs through forced closures and bankruptcies will help convince these upstarts to accept Universal Basic Income and give up all hope in that nonsensical “American Dream”. Get a job serving Amazon or McDonalds or just sit at home waiting for the Government Overlords to send a check while you play video games with all your Facebook friends. The future is here and the Lizard People are winning.

It’s pretty obvious that nancy” get your hair blown-out” pelosi is related to this ass-clown.

Can we really expect the scales of justice to balance when 30,000 emails under subpoena can be erased and the perpetrators face no penalty? Can we expect anything different when governors issue unlawful mandates, then violate those mandates themselves?
There are some who have taken an oath to “support and defend” the Constitution who have taken no action against such clear usurpations. They may be forgiven perhaps, if they at least refuse to enforce said unlawful mandates.
And btw, since we’re discussing the “privileged class”, whatever happened in the Jeffery Epstein case?

Try erasing even two emails while under audit by the IRS and see what happens to you. The Clinton’s ran the biggest crime syndicate in American history and got away with it. Obama is smarter, but probably dirtier.

He “hanged” himself, case closed. By the way, does anyone know what happened to his girlfriend? I thought she was going to name names. Oh yeah, the FBI are running that investigation. Nevermind.

Your answer may indeed be true, relative to Epstein himself. But that wasn’t my question.

I would sell one of my kidneys to see the Clintons(all 3 of them) get prosecuted and pay for the damage they’ve do to this country.

He’s got TWO more years left. Much too long. If you are registered to vote in California, there are a number of petitions to remove him from office. Hope you can find one!

My husband and a buddy are out every weekend with their Recall Newsome petitions and getting lots of signatures. Folks are furious and/or disgusted.

I just downloaded this petition and will get as many as I can to sign it. I’ve also signed some I found online and didn’t have to be mailed in. Thanks for the link

The problem is, we have way too many people in Kommiefornia that are sheep and still comply with the fear mongering. Fortunately in my county, we have a sheriff that won’t enforce the mandates. But even in my neck of the woods, we still have Covidiots. They don’t shame you or beat you up, but the look of horror on several faces when I ‘forgot’ to put on a mask before I went into my local fabric store was both more and less amusing.

I would go with more amusing and throw your mask in the trash. We don’t need them and we don’t need to be ordered (unlawfully) to wear them. The time of covid is long past. When will people wake up???

Yes, Covidiots!
These are the people that believe the news, the ‘scientists’, anyone w/ ‘authority’… don’t think for yourself, we’ve done all the thinking for you, all you need to do is obey!

Yep, there are SO many actions going against the conservatives that the left is really ramping it up. I guess we can only hope that the swamp gets so large that is swallows itself up. Problem with that is it will probably take us with.

Forgive the cliche, but “hope” is not a strategy. I for one can no longer afford to only hope.

Individuals going rogue is also insufficient.

Rather, I’m taking lessons from C19; becoming my own infectious antibody – reinvesting in my own education and spirituality, as well as supporting a better next generation.

Oh, and I also bought a gun.

I’ve never been big on Philosophy books, but I read both of those in my 20s (many years ago), and could probably stand to read both again.

Wait long enough on the rivers edge and soon your enemies will begin floating past. Or words to that effect. I take this to mean that Sun Tzu was not really a man of patience and he sent a brigade of his best warriors to destroy the enemy so he could watch them float past! 😀
