I was listening to BW Now this morning, with Bill and Scott talking about the recent NASA discovery of odd particles. Bill got to describing how we perceive the universe, and talking about how limited our perceptions are.
He said that we only perceive four dimensions, but that science postulates that we exist in a “eleven dimensional universe, wrapped up in these strings” of space-time tying it all together.
I immediately got this image in my head of our universe, wrapped in string, lying at the feeet* of some 15th dimensional being who is saying, “Oh, Daddy! The new eleven dimensional universe toy! How did you know I wanted this one?”
Bill, you have such a great way of describing how science and scientific principles work. I know you don’t want to actually be president, but how about Chief Science Advisor?Or start a new TV show and be the anti-Bill Nye. Teaching, you know, real science?
*(15th dimensional feet have 3 ‘e’s! I said it, so it’s true!)
