CDR Matt “Nilla” Wright, my former skipper, posted this in Proceedings, the monthly publication of the US Naval Institute – an association that includes among its alumni such luminaries as Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz and Alfred Thayer Mahan (father of the modern navy). In it, he stands up for his Sailors and calls for an end to the excessive restrictions imposed by the Navy on its Sailors.
I couldn’t be prouder of my old skipper, even though he knows damn well that there will be repercussions.
