Here’s the new FAQ, suggested by Member Dave Case. Thanks, Dave.

I’m torn on that one, Steve.

I can understand why you would want to share your amazing posts, but I like having a forum where my words could never come back to haunt me. I enjoy the relative privacy of the Member Blog.

I meant something like a one-time pass you could share with one friend, for one viewing, and only for your own posts — and which doesn’t include the comments. The “pass” could have a counter such that you could only authorize a certain small number of viewings (or only one).

The alternative is that I give my username and password out, which I don’t want to do. Or take a screenshot.

I’ve tried saving the web page whole from a browser, for a backup copy, but something doesn’t work when reloading it from files. That’s probably on-purpose, and I applaud the team for achieving that level of security.

There are a lot of people posting terrific things. There needs to be a way to get them seen by the outside world, to encourage membership. Perhaps an occasional Featured Blog Post free to all on the main page, with author’s permission, chosen by the Team of Three exercising their collective marketing fu.

This seems like an excellent compromise between “this is good content that needs to be shared more broadly” and “our business model is to build our member base rather than chase YouTube subscription numbers”.
