Pismo Update from Bill Whittle

It has been so very important for me to be at home as much as possible, as this is as hard on my wife as it has been on me.

Hi Everybody,Bill Whittle with PismoNatasha and I would like to thank all of you for the very, very kind words and thoughts and prayers. This picture was taken on Monday; I’ve been doing much better since then, and Pismo, unfortunately, is worse. I just wanted to say again how much I appreciate your patience and forbearance these last two weeks. It has been so very important for me to be at home as much as possible, as this is as hard on my wife as it has been on me. Piz is a tank. I spend as much time with him as I can and he keeps purring the whole time. He’s a soldier, that cat. I’ll be back in the saddle next week. See you then. —BW

As a “cat Dad” of three wonderful kitties I completely understand. They must come first! Keep up the great work. Pismo is a beautiful boy!

Well, I started crying just reading this. My little Poo died 14 years ago and I still cry when I think of her. I have her ashes and my will states that we will be mixed together when I go. We will be together for eternity, I am so sorry. It is such a devastating ordeal. Ok, crying again.

Bill, I wish I had words that would make this any easier. Thinking of you, Natasha, and your beloved friend Pismo. You are in our hearts.

Sometimes it’s very hard to have a pet, knowing you’re almost certain to outlive them.
But there is a bright side, and a warning, here. At least you don’t have to worry about him outliving you. Once the grey hair starts, that’s something you really have to start thinking about, in fairness to your four legged loved ones.
Take as much time as you need. I think I can safely say that most if not all of us will still be here when you get back. But whether we are or not is beside the point. A week, a month, a year, it takes as long as it takes.
Priorities, Bill. Go.

Love and hugs to all of you. Sweet Pizmo knows how much you and Natasha love him and that will comfort him – and you – through this difficult time.

Every pet is a treasure. You invest a small piece of your soul and get back affection. And it hurts, oh does it hurt, when that pet has to go. One of mine died on Christmas Day and it near broke me for a while, so I get it.

Very sorry to hear about that; grief is the price of love, as they say. About purring, cats purr when they are happy, but they also do it to comfort themselves when they are not so well. It is rather endearing; they are noble creatures.

Bill, I am so sorry to hear about the things you have been going through. It does seem that things pile up. We lost two older cats a couple of years ago. One of them, Pumpkin, is still my picture. I still miss them and other pets that were such a big part of our lives. The memories are sweet though.
When family members and pets are hurting, you just wish you could take away their pain. It’s easier to be hurt yourself than watch others hurt especially when you are such a compassionate person.
You and your family are in our prayers. Praying that God gives you strength.

I’m sending prayers and intense thoughts of strength and comfort to you and Natasha. We understand and we’re with you. Keep your chin up, put your head down, and power through to the other side.

I had to put my 19 year old cat down a year and a half ago and it was one of the toughest things that I had to do. I only just got new cats in this past month. Remember the good times and take your time.

Bill – pets are tremendously important to all of us. People who don’t have them cannot understand. Life is what happens outside of work. Take your time and take care of your family. Sending love and prayer across country.
