Political Pandemic: Will Democrats Who Flee Cities Take City Values with Them?

The COVID-19 pandemic has chased many city folk out of the densely-populated urban core, and some aren’t coming back. Will Democrats who flee cities and move to suburban and rural areas take their values with them? Or does geography shape ideology?

Look in the Member’s Blog – I think Scotty puts out a notice there, and somehow people meet up via Zoom.
I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve watched all 3 sessions so far, and enjoyed them.
It’s great if/when everyone doesn’t all talk at once, and Scott moderates, and even reins in Bill if he’s over his time slot…
BTW, I’d sign up for one, but behind me (using my computer’s camera) is a messy desk area, and I haven’t yet got Zoom on my iPad…
Speaking of which, don’t remember his name, but one guy who’s been in at least 2 of the chats has an interesting room behind him, wood paneling going at all sorts of angles, it is really cool!

Grace, I think Zoom lets you blur the background, and I know you can superimpose a fake background. Thanks for watching. Can’t wait until you can join us.

Send Scott a message through the site (Connect / Member Directory ) and he will send you and invite. He also posts on the main page a day or so prior letting us know it is going on.

Just send me a Private Message (click my name or face here) with your email address and I’ll make sure to invite you to the next one, Colonel K.

The “balance” of freedom falls on the side of the individual when weighed by Conservatives. The balance is tilted heavily in the direction of an enforced social order when weighed by the liberals.
When you live in a city the resources available are under greater competitive pressure. Politicians on the left pretend that they ready this with social programs. They make it worse. They make it deadly.

People moving out of Philadelphia are not dispersing across Pennsylvania. They are staying within commuting distance of the city, but changing the politics of additional jurisdictions. This is also happening around Pittsburgh. These two cities account for a significant portion of the population of the state.

Cannabols go where the food is. If food is sparse or is willing and able to fight back, the cannabols die out. The cannabols in this case are the elitist left who think “society” owes them a living simply because they breath, urinate, and defecate. They seek nobility in giving away other peoples’ wealth.

Their belief is the producers who create the values they consume and give away do it by magic out of thin air and thus are not needed. Hence, they insist on their “fair share” of collective wealth so they can continue to breath, urinate, and defecate. How much is “fair”? In their opinion it is always and forever: MORE! No matter how much they get, it is always “not enough”.

This is not sustainable! Learn to say NO in a way they cannot avoid it.

Ben Shapiro has noted on a number of occasions that the statistics don’t bear out the theory that Californians are liberalizing Texas. By and large, the people leaving California for Texas are California conservatives, and they remain conservative in Texas. The liberal drift of Texas is being driven by young (Millennial and Gen-Z) native-born Texans.

This bodes ill. It means that California is becoming ever more hopelessly liberal while Texas’s leftward drift, being inherent, may be unavoidable.

Your theory assumes that teh kids will never grow up and earn teh things (career, family) that tend to turn one Conservative. Hence why Leftists try to destroy kids’ childhoods and infantilize them as adults

True, but my experience with my millennial friends (now in their early 30s, almost all married, most with children, and a few with their own small businesses) is that all those things make them MORE leftist, not less. They have completely and utterly internalized the leftist narrative they’ve been fed through their schooling and popular media, and they truly believe that everything would be better for themselves and everyone else if only the progressive dream was realized.

Yes, most will speak positively of socialism, they buy into the current lockdown with religious zeal, with some even going so far as to be practically in tears BEGGING for “martial law” to put an end to everyone not locking themselves in their homes completely because OMGTHEYREGONNAKILLEVERYBODY!!!!!!

When they are met with the failure of leftist thinking, they merely blame conservative elements. When met with the failure of the leftist narrative, they dismiss the dissonant parts as lies or conspiracy theories and move on, affirmed in their previous perspectives.
