Pride Vs. Humility

Since this is supposedly the month where many celebrate pride, I offer you this poem written by Rudyard Kipling. Pride is considered a vice by some and the original sin by others. Some call it the queen of vices and others say it’s the vice of queens. The correlating virtue to pride is humility. Humility does not mean weakness for it takes great strength and courage to be humble through the innate suffering in life and suffering through the malevolence of others. If you can keep your head when all about you 
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, 
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too; 
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
