Wouldn’t it be nice if government got out of our way and freed us up to prosper? There SHOULD be a lemonade stand or a flower stand or a veggie stand on every corner of every neighborhood and every intersection of roads.
There is nothing like a little extra money in our pockets to make us despise the taxes that take it away. Prosperous people should work to shrink government, and allow themselves to prosper.
But prosperity means tax revenue. If government ALLOWED us to be prosperous then the national deficit would disappear, followed by the debt. Pending, of course, that elected officials can practice restraint, and resist greater spending on ‘behalf’ of their constituents.
A debt-free America is the MOST powerful tool we have in the diplomatic toolbox.
Prosperous people can choose. They can pick their own healthcare. They can pick their own retirement. We can ALL get off the government dole, from cradle to grave. Then we can choose the best educational opportunities for our kids, and take a vacation.
Prosperity is the true green revolution. Prosperous people insist on clean air and water, every time. A prosperous people can choose to drive a Leaf, a Tesla, or that new Hummer EV or ditch all that in favor of the new and better technology.
Prosperity could emphatically decide the question of illegal immigration. Imagine an America so free and prosperous that we have employment kiosks set up at every point of entry. Imagine NEEDING those people, every one of them.
A prosperous people should be generous. America is, today, the most prosperous nation on earth, and the most generous.
Prosperity gives us the financial flexibility to develop new sources of energy, food, and housing. We don’t need government to decide these things for us. We need a variety of supply lines so that when one fails another can pick up the slack. And it could be US that sends help where it is needed.
Are you worried about a burgeoning population for the world? The good news is that the answer is prosperity. Look at North America and Europe. These prosperous people are having trouble maintaining a birthrate to replace themselves. Prosperous people are busy with opportunities. Women follow education and a career into their child bearing years, naturally limiting the number of children they have. Prosperous people can choose to have no children or twelve children. Both government and Planned Parenthood can butt out.
Purpose and success are two keys for getting people out of addictions. Prosperity could make drugs much less attractive than making money.
A prosperous people can recover quickly from an economic downturn, a change in technologies, a natural disaster, war, climate change, perhaps even a meteor crash or an alien invasion.
Prosperity is not a gospel. It will not save you, nor is it any kind of sign from heaven that God smiles on you. Rain waters the fields of the just and the unjust alike. Jesus Christ paid the ransom for ALL of us, every one, so that all might enjoy eternal fellowship with a good, good God. Prosperity must be guided by a moral compass, or it becomes simply greed, and hell on earth.
I look forward to more candidates for public office who endorse justice, freedom, prosperity, and generosity, who will work to build faith, farms, forests, families, fish, industry, manufacturing, homes, energy, innovation, gratitude, integrity, and joy for all.

Is that just exercise in wishful thinking or you have an evolutionary path in mind to get there? (the govt kinda by definition collects more and more resources and power with the only limit being a collapse where another cycle starts)
Bill had a nice episode long time ago “We had one job” (not sure if it was the title or just the main theme).
You’re right. I have no idea how to strip the unnecessary functions out of government. But I do think that a message of “You can prosper” would sure be a breath of fresh air in an upcoming election. Could anyone promise prosperity? No. But the freedom to try would be nice.
