The following day Klavan walked back his comments about white supremacy but IMHO still has a gross misconception about The Proud Boys.

Klavan’s response was tepid – and sounded grudging. I would bet that he received a lot of email (plus all of the comments on the YouTube video) calling him out, yet he made it sound as if there was just that one email asking him to reconsider his characterization of the Proud Boys.
