The North Bristol Trust, a British health care provider, says doctors can withhold care from patients it determines to be racists or sexists, based on their public statements. When you give power of attorney to the government, don’t be surprised if funding for your line item gets redistributed to a better sort of person.
But it’s not all horrible socialist news. Right Angle Lightning Round is the best fracking gotcha journalism show on the internet. With a mystical combination of weird news, and serious analysis, it’s great for viewers (and bigots) thinking about leaving the country because of Trump-driven angst.

A little clarification. The move by the North Bristol NHS is (or at least being heralded as) a response to abuse of staff. Hospital staff do have to put up with a good deal of abuse from various drunks, thugs and numpties of all sorts. I have no problem with hospital authorities dealing with abusive, threatening or violent patients however they need to. Here they have launched a system where people deemed to have broken the rules will be warned first and then care withdrawn “when safe” if they don’t mend their ways. However, I fail to see why people behaving badly for reasons of racism (or any other reason) being treated differently from any other miscreants.
Although the story doesn’t feel quite as dystopian as first reported, the concerns do still stand. Who will determine what is “racist” abuse? This is a real problem when so many people have a highly politicised idea of “racism”. There is the widely believed (by the left) doctrine that any and all white people are, by definition, racist. A good many commentators repeat frequently that anyone who voted Brexit is racist. Will it be safe to discuss Brexit while waiting for treatment? The NHS is a great engine of social engineering and this story sends a clear message, especially to elderly white people. “Shut up, keep your views to yourself, or we pull the plug granny.”
I’ve noticed the NHS crops up a fair bit on BW, as well it should, it’s a dire warning. Look out for an NHS blog post very soon.
The NHS withholding treatment because of their perception that someone is racist or sexist is deeply troubling yet not totally surprising given what, as Bill pointed out, we have seen there recently. Frankly I can see that coming to America in the future as government embeds itself deeper into the healthcare system here. Hard to imagine some 25 (going on 15) year old SJW deciding if I am racist or sexist to see if I get treated at a hospital or told to go home and take Obama’s pill. Bleak future for us old folks if the democrats gain power again. So glad we have 20/30 something members at BW.com, love you guys, you are the future and we need you. Bring your friends!
Don Jr is awesome – Romney is such a disappointment
Not a big fan of family dynasties. That said, I could see Don Jr. running for a third Trump term. He is moving out of dad’s shadow.
My hesitation about Trump came primarily from living through the Governator. THERE was a massive disappointment after all the work of getting rid of Davis.
Arnold just wasn’t strong enough to take the heat.
Big strong body. Fragile ego. Sad.
Also, I like to think if the NHS tried pulling this stuff in the US (not letting those two kids leave the country for treatment for ex.), there would be a lot more dead doctors and hospital administrators.

We were chatting abut this in Insty this weekend and I held the position that the Aztecs were a bunch of psychotic homicidal religious fanatics. But what I didn’t get the chance to say is that I have no reason to believe that the other tribes the Aztecs were capturing and sacrificing would be any less homicidal were they the dominate tribe.
The Mayans had games between cities where the losing team was ritually executed.
