Beware the cuteness! This past Saturday, the girlfriend and I evaded the police drones and drove down to Tennessee. There we met and fell in love with the cutest Aussie Doodle that ever was, named Sugar. I didn’t know even know what an Aussie Doodle was before last weekend, but I can tell you that they are absolutely adorable. Your eyes do not deceive you! Sugar has one blue eye and one grey eye.
Our baby is a dreamer, too, although I don’t know what a 9 week old puppy has to dream about. Sometimes it’s food, by the look of it. https://sugar.s3.amazonaws.com/0A672FEE-9842-4719-8818-48F567728E13.mov Sometimes I think she dreams about running.
When she’s awake, she usually keeps me too busy to take pictures, so most of the photos that I have are of her sleeping.
BTW, the police drones comment was just a bad joke. I know they are having drone patrols in places like CT and NJ, but here in this part of Virginia we are so far unmolested by police drones.

Congrats on your new addition! She is beautiful I’ve had 9 dogs throughout my life: strays, adoptees, and AKC champs. I’m a total sucker. Last year I had to put my Yorkie down –smartest and most devoted dog I’ve ever had. AND, at the time i didn’t have a household full of other canines. When she was gone, I was alone..worst time ever! So I now have a rescue terrier/?…thing… and all is right with the world.
Thanks for taking care of a beautiful puppy. Want a friend for life, get a dog. Can’t understand cat people. Oops, sorry Bill.
While I grew up with dogs (father was allergic to cats), as an adult I have had several cats that found their way into my orbit. Just like dogs, they have different personalities: some are very affectionate lap creatures; others are just, well, ornery. I always loved them all.
I had a beautiful cat named Kenny for 15 years. He was my best friend for a long time. I will miss him. When I was growing up, we always had 1 cat and 1 dog. It was the natural order of the world.
CAN. NOT. RESIST. So much cute.
Stop it! I already have 4 rescue dogs. Two 9 year olds, a seven and a five. Me and my wife are already spending a lot of time and money on them. ( But they are worth it!)
Tell me about it! I rescued a wonderful dog. After months of trying to rehabilitate her coat/skin condition-infections, I paid for a complete blood allergy panel. It was very expensive, but well worth it. Turned out I was feeding her everything she was allergic to: fish, brewer’s yeast, venison, etc. You do your best but sometimes you have to go with the science. Anyway, after 3 months on a strict diet, Lexi no longer has scaly skin and doesn’t chew her feet raw anymore.
Bottom line, when you adopt a dog, you have to be ready to go the distance to make them whole, and – in my case – Lexi has improved so much that she trusts me to make her feel better.
We had a bad scare last night. Sugar has a bad roundworm infection. She has been to the vet, took her medication like a good girl, and is on the mend. Mommy had a terrible night worrying. Both are resting comfortably now.
I remember when Jack, our eldest came down with parvo days after we got him. He was found on the street starving while he was a puppy and was in animal control for a week. We got him on a Friday, and he was scheduled to be put down on the next Monday. When we got him he looked like a concentration camp survivor. You could see every bone in his body. He made it. Over time, he developed arthritis because of poor nutrition as a puppy. Then he got a knot around his right rear leg that caused him to limp. We thought it was a bone spur. It got worse, so we took him to the vet. Cancer. The vet thought it was bone cancer and gave him 3-6 months to live if we left the leg on and 6-9 months of we removed it. We removed it the day after last Christmas. About ten days later the biopsy came back. Not bone cancer. Cartilage cancer. Rarer, and less invasive or deadly. If the vet did not get it all, he should have 3-6 years. Doing well, a lot happier, wants longer walks, plays more and vaulted a foot high fence to get to a racoon. (Dog and racoon ok). He is nine. So 12-15 years if the cancer is still there. The boy is a fighter
Glad all’s well. Fortunately, worms in puppies is fairly common, and very treatable. Lexi had a mighty case of giardia when I got her, and it took 2 rounds of meds to get it under control. Thank goodness for Pill Pockets.
Awwwww!
In my city, they took the lockdown as an opportunity to promote pet adoptions from the city-run shelter.
She is beautiful!
Thank you! We think so, too!
