Amherst welcomes students this fall with a vaccine mandate, a double-mask mandate (unless you have an N-95), no events with alcohol, no tail-gating, no parties, no students in restaurants and bars — or even in town — unless on a ‘business’ errand.
And Amherst isn’t alone. Will the hyper-regulated quarantine college save us from a coronavirus outbreak, or merely prove to be prophylactic against fun, and the death knell of campus life.
Stephen Green, Zo Rachel and Bill Whittle analyze the bright future for America’s young scholars and leaders.

consider this if some-one voted using her name then even her provisional vote has been effectively canceled. Her provisional vote should count twice To equal one vote. And i bet there is a paper trail back to the police letting any more ballot harvesters go undetected.
now the promotion is about if you are immune comprimised, but no info for us injured on the first jab. but i live by the rule of fool me once shame on you twice shame on me
Gladys Kravitz won.
The people who had the dogs killed should be thrown out of office and barred from any position of authority for the rest of their lives. As far as I’m concerned, they’re demonstrating the same sort of depraved mindset that gave the world Hitler’s death camps and Stalin’s gulags. If they can kill innocent dogs in a shelter, it won’t be too far of a stretch for them to kill ‘rebellious’ people in a camp.
Hearing things like this makes me so thankful for my governor, who recently said repeatedly that he would not issue either a state wide mask mandate or a vaccine mandate, nor would our state be participating in another lockdown. He said, “Who am I to tell you that your job is not essential. EVERY job is essential for those who depend on those paycheck to feed their families.” He also said, “Who am I to think I’m so much smarter than you that I should be making your medical decisions for you. There are risks to the vaccine. There are risks to the virus. You need to discuss those risks with your doctor and make the decision that is best for you and your family.” If MS were a battleground state, Reeves would be getting as much attention as Abbott or DeSantis.
Oh, and his next project is to eliminate the state income tax.
A very large portion of this is about control. However, I also believe that you have bureaucrats, largely far leftists, who truly believe the solution to any problem is more government. Therefore, when faced with a situation they think “Well, we HAVE to DO SOMETHING!” Even when doing nothing is the right thing to do. If they do nothing and everything is fine, this bursts their government religion faith.
If they do something and it makes things worse, they will just do something else, or do the same thing HARDER. But they will never choose leaving a situation alone.
This is especially true of economics; but has been very true with Covid.
Steve, the quote is “Show me the incentives and I will show you the outcome,” by Charles Munger.
I’m with Kamala Harris on this.
She once said she would NOT get any vaccine that President Trump had anything to do with.
Its not all of Australia but it is 80% of the population. The federal government fighting to get some sanity but they have bureaucrats are stabbing the prime minister in the back. The left wing state governments are either panicked or are trying to lockdown everything in sight until the next election then pull an ballot mail scam. People are protesting.
My middle brother claims to have counter protested the lockdown protesters. Threw stuff at them and got arrested and charged. $1000 fine and he’s got to pay for the fruit he threw. I am unsure if he is kidding.
The left is heading for a cliff at full speed, they know it, and they are proud of it.
It’s criminal to put a mask on a kid! Protest by keeping your kids at home a teach them yourself. You’ll do a better job than the “experts” anyway,
I got vaccinated and still got the 19. I felt yucky for 3 days, less than a mild cold. Maybe due to the vaccine? Fine now. But all the stores still what people that are vaccinated to wear masks. It all about control. Totalitarians just love raw power for power’s sake.
Zo, thanks for pinch hitting for Scott, and previously, Steve – great job!
Now, when will you be filling in for Bill for two weeks?
To dovetail on Dave’s comment below, a while back The Hodge Twins had the great suggestion of exchewing multiple masks for Saran Wrap to guarantee 100% protection!
Ben Shapiro had suggested placing a plastic bag over your head and sealing it with an elastic around your neck. You won’t get the Kung Flu, but there may be side-effects. 8>)
I just love it when Bill goes all righteous and indignant about the state of affairs in our whole world and then offers up pearls of hope for those of us who see the horror and know not what to do. For now and always, keeping the faith that our country will not fall but will rise again to TRiUMPhant heights!
A plastic bag sealed at one’s neck is safer than any number of paper and cloth masks. Let’s start enforcing that upon the policy makers and “Karens” of the world.
