Remember… Remember… the 8th of November…

Even though most of us had no idea what had happened on November 8th until November 9th.  I’ll never forget that day.  I was one of those who was absolutely convinced that Hillary was going to be the 45th POTUS.  But unlike those ridiculous girls in the featured image, I was aghast that that was about to take place.  I went to bed early on November 8th, because I didn’t want to look at what I was convinced was going to happen, happen.  True story, though; I had a dream that night that Donald Trump had won the election in a landslide.  I often wonder if the gestalt angst and jubilation of all the people watching the election results somehow amassed enough power to effect my sleeping mind.  The dream was so vivid that when I woke up at 4:00 AM eastern,  I had to remind myself that it wasn’t real.  My goal that day was to get to the gym, get the day started early, get it over with, and then crawl into a hole somewhere and begin drinking myself to death.  I convinced myself to at least look at the election results because there was no sense living in denial.  It could only take about 30 seconds, after all.  Then what I saw looked a lot like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0F-iChjPOw

I never made it to the gym on November 9th, 2016, but I did have a few drinks that night 🙂

I don’t watch election nights either because the networks enjoy torturing people with good news/bad news whipsaws to keep people tuned in , up ,down, up down etc until you’re exhausted. Plus they try to demoralize the right with tricks like calling Dem states as quick as possible and holding the call on Repub states for an hour or two. Bill Sammon wrote a book about this . Recall in 2016 they held off calling Pennsylvania for a few hours because that would put Trump over the top.
Anyway in 2016 I was home avoiding election coverage when my daughter texted me with ‘Are you watching this???’ That’s when I found out The NY Times meter was saying 80%Trump win.

After watching Bill @ the Daily Wire that night, I was anxiously awaiting this video. I was so in shock over the results I couldn’t have slept. It was so good to see Bill excited, after seeing the media’s reaction.

Just when I thought things couldn’t have been better, his personal news was the icing on the cake!

Thanks for posting this, as I hadn’t watched it in over a year. It never gets old.

Man, Bill’s prediction about the media pushback was spot-on, though I don’t think any of us could’ve guessed just how deep they’d dig themselves in the process.

It sure was, but I think a lot of people saw that coming. I remember my mom asking me before the election who I thought would win. I told her, “Hilary is going to win. But if she doesn’t, the 2016 election campaign is simply never going to end.” My mom couldn’t understand what I was saying.
