There is a kind of cosmic justice at work when the people that are the quickest to cancel anyone who disagrees with them ends up getting cancelled themselves. It has always been the way of revolutions to devour it’s own revolutionaries.*

AMENto Bill! The sewer rats CHOSE to become sewer rats. DECENT people don’t “cancel” people, especially “their own.”
Top notch, one of the most prescient and one of the best because of it!!!
In the system of virtue points there always has to be a victim and a victimizer. Once you have removed all the bad people, a new group will be at the top of the pyramid and become the new oppressors, to become the new enemy.
Some black citizens in Chicago are finding that out the hard way as they are being dispossessed in favor of the new victim group, the illegal immigrant. The TERFs already encountered this when they did not want men in their sports or their lesbian dating scenes. JK Rowling is lucky in that she has FU money and can tell these social climbers to F off back down the hill.
It saddens and shocks me how often we all say with an uneasy laugh, ‘Whoa, can’t say that anymore’ or we lower our voices and look around. The one thing we used to say all the time but don’t hear much anymore is ‘ It’s a free country’
Hey, Scott, both Steve and Bill are clean shaven, and you are not. Don’t you need to get with their program???!! 🙂
Conversely, only good looking real males can grow beards as handsome as yours, so that must make Steve and Bill into “girly” men?? Or some other category yet again?? 🙂
But to its credit, BWDC is diverse in its shaving status, inclusive in allowing shaved and bearded persons (of either sex or gender) into the fold, and equitable in providing each presenter equal screen space (in their turn).
Just, fair, and kind: just to point out once again that these characteristics have both inherent genetic (evolved psychology) and cultural components. Fortunately for most of us, our culture is essentially derivative from the Judeo – Christian culture, plus the English/Scottish/ American Enlightenments.
Cancelling vs. exile or shunning: And we might also recall that even the Greeks enforced exile* upon those citizens or others who did not adhere to the general city-state oriented public preferences. The Jews also had shunning as a punishment for those who transgressed some of their laws and practices**. In those times and places that could become a death sentence. But here and now those cancelled leftists can merely change their strips and join BWDC and related groups to reform and gain acceptance again.
*Or worse – reference the poisoning of Socrates.
**Do the Amish have the same outlook and practice?
The bearded one is actually Scott’s evil counterpart from the parallel universe =8^)
Whenever the national split comes, and it’s looking more inevitable every day, the biggest losers will be BLAMtifa. Any revolutionaries hanging around the Red states will finally face an actual justice system. Any in the Blue states will wish they’d read a history book. If they’d read the history of China, Germany, etc. they’d know that the most dangerous people once the Revolution is complete are the former Revolutionaries, and BLAMtifa will meet a similar fate.
BLAMtifa. Love it!
It’s funny Steve, the moment you mentioned fear I immedietly thought of Tarkin’s speech
When the senate in Star War voted to give Palpatine more power I instantly thought of when Hitler was given more power.
“This is how democracy dies, with thunderous applause.”
NO surprise there. The scene was intended to echo that event, intentionally.
If memory serves, Lucas put that line in as a dig at Bush over the Iraq War
Changing terms, meanings of words and unacceptable things change constantly. Even better if the terms, etc have been around a long time. How else can fear be continued? How else can the power hungry newbies rise to the top of a powerful group, that originally may have good intentions? (or even ones that never had good intention). Got to get rid of the old guard to become the top. Of course, it seems that people forget that it can happen to you too.
