Wanna talk about LSD dealers giving out stamps on schoolyards? Tell me about Zoom. Every teacher is completely addicted. They can charge whatever they want in May..
Regarding Scott’s topic, I saw a posting saying (paraphrased) Social Distancing: Gamers feel like they’ve been training for this all their lives. ( or in some way, and making it sound positive).
Steve’s comments last week about people working from home and not really having much of a change in their daily behavior (I think also said by his compatriot Sarah Hoyt) should prove useful too.
BTW, how many mugs does Steve own? Or is he switching them out more frequently in response to Covid-i9?
I’ve been keeping my eye out for a Babylon 5 mug to send him. He seems to have mugs from every other SciFi franchise.
Try redbubble.com, cafe press.com, eBay, amazon, teepublic
Steve Green has more coffee mugs than I have wine glasses.
BTW – that’s a lot!
Another laugh-a-minute show. Always look forward to Wednesday morning….because NOT JUST MEN ARE LONERS and this show brightens my day. My life hasn’t changed much at all. Except I am not ordering as much. Not a bad thing. Thank you for being the goofs you really are on Backstage…I mean, way down deep inside lies the goof and you let that flag unfurl and fly on Backstage.
Wait, let me get this straight: use this “free” service to “read” books to your kids so that you don’t have to? The same kids you’re stuck in the same house with? How is this a good thing?
Baby camel?!?! Thank you, I needed that laugh!
Agree Steve. to rely on the Chinese to do things like manufacture things like Softball trophies, souvenir coffee mugs or duct tape is one thing but to so tightly tie our country in so we rely on China for medical supplies, drugs and other critical items seems really short sighted.
My biggest client has several factories in China. They are quite modern and the people working there are pretty high level. The salary people all speak three languages. The difference is the ownership of the company and the processes they put into place. Much like in the US. We have had local companies doing simple work for us that I would not trust with anything high level. Or packing masks.
Like any other population, some people are capable of higher level work than others. Or as the saying goes, picture a person you know of average intelligence. Half the population is dumber than that person. There are well run Chinese companies and those that are not. Just like here.
Something that seems like it is glaringly missing from the main stream media reporting on C-19 is reporting on how the homeless are holding up. I would think that if you went to the homeless camps in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle (fill in the big city) you would find stacks of bodies. I have a hard time imagining that the city government officials have gone down to these areas and explained the concept of “Washing your hands”, “Coughing into your sleeve” or “Social Distancing” to these people and even if they did would it register? Seems like that along with their lack of hospital beds, medical care or even latex gloves, masks or hand sanitize would create the perfect storm. I can come up with a whole lot of sarcasm about the concept but I am really curious about a couple things.
1. Are the media outlets just not reporting on the deaths of the homeless? They are arguably the most tightly packed in their tent cities, unsanitary urinating and defecating where ever they want. The media usually want the highest death toll possible in ANY “crisis”.
2. Have the homeless people somehow developed an immunity to C-19 that should be further studied?
Someone brought up that idea earlier in the week, maybe at Instapundit. I thought then that maybe people are just avoiding the homeless camps and there isn’t any transmission vector to get them sick. That or they’re all so sick already the Covid is getting ambushed as soon as it hits their skin.
Scott, I am already an introvert dealing with this well social distancing. …. For years.
You won’t be running into anyone who has seen this? Has the cruise been cancelled/postponed/shuffled/whatevah?
Seriously, are there any updates available for the StratoCruise? Are we still in a wait and see mode?
Maryanne, the latest we’ve heard is that no decision yet has been made to postpone. I’ll send a note now to our travel agent and get an update that I can post here. Thank you.
Thanks.
Yes, I too am waiting… I have made no other arrangements – flights, hotels – except for buying the cruise tickets…
Just posted the latest update from our travel agent on the Member blog page.
Scott, did you watch what Trump said live or did you watch a report of it? The only people really upset are the ones who saw a report.
I agree, Richard. I watched Trump’s comments, and essentially he was doing exactly what Scott wanted.
Richard, I’m not sure to which presidential remarks you refer. Do you have a video link so I can make sure I have seen it? Thanks.
The one you guys were talking about, where Dr. Fauci supposedly face palmed but really didn’t.
Live.
Or admit they watch this show.
