Charlie Kirk and Steven Bannon are both saying that Kari Lake and Blake Masters have won but Arizona is refusing to announce or finalize the count. You already have a House Majority and a Senate majority. Another reason to announce may be rioting; some don’t want their blue cities burned again and others need time to organize Antifa mobs. Charlie Kirk has people crunching the numbers and is streaming it on Rumble.
You have been watching Crain and Co from Daily Wire! Sunday Morning College run down is awesome! I would love for you all to have more followers the kids need to see you all!
A woman is a bride on or maybe near her wedding day. When a man refers to his wife as a bride years after the wedding day, he is engaging in emotional make believe to placate a woman. Don’t trust men who refer to their wives as brides.
Or, he’s remembering the love, hope, and dreams they had on their wedding day and still feels the love and is living the dream.
In order to effectively disincentivize evil conduct, the motives behind the wrongdoing must be discerned. One person’s unwillingness to discern motives doesn’t mean motives can’t be discerned. Joseph diagnosed the motives of his brothers (Gen 50:20), and Paul diagnosed Demas’ motives (2 Tim 4:10). I wish I knew when and how not knowing the knowable became fashionable. :/
I wish that I was as naive and altruistic as Scott…. apparently in his world there are no sociopaths, psychopaths, narcissists, greedy selfish and soulless power hungry creatures as can be found in our government, academia, entertainment and media. Not to be too harsh, but I believe that in his avowed naivete he would even find a way to forgive Auschwitz prison guards.
That’s a fascinating remote analysis, Stan. Can you cite examples (in context) or what I actually said that leads you to assert these things.
I rarely disagree with Scott but I found Ticket to Paradise dreadful. Predictable, unbelievable, and forced. And corney. I only went because my movie buddy vetoed my pick and there were pretty much only Halloween movies to choose from.
It was corny, and predictable, for me too, Kit. And fun. And touching. My demands are low. I like being entertained.
I can’t believe Backstage is not viewed by more members – it’s my favorite!
The idea for new show format sounds great. I would also recommend bold red and white lettering for the thumbnails it works for Tim Pool and Jeremy at The quartering
I agree with Scott that it is more productive to find a way to prevent this from happening in the future. However I don’t think anyone on the right wants to actually talk about the preventive measures for a situation like this.
The way you prevent draconian lockdowns and the enforcement of illegal laws is by getting together in a group of strong men who are capable of violence and exercising your Second Amendment rights.
You can talk all day till you’re blue in the face about Fauci Newsom Gretchen Whitmore Trump Biden whoever. When the men and women in the blue uniforms with the badges are willing to enforce these dictatorial mandates that’s where the problem comes in. In my area we didn’t have to deal with it because we are all beef fed farm boys who have more fire power in our closet then our local police department.
If you want to prevent it, the right wing must stop bowing and kissing the boots of the redcoats that now wear blue.
I’ve started watching Podcast of the Lotus Eaters. They have an approximately 90 minute podcast, with 3 stories and a mailbag. On Youtube, the 3 stories are broken into 3 15-20 minute episodes. Maybe something like that would work for y’all
I haven’t been able to keep up with much around here for many months. This was a good one to watch, quite a bit of real backstage info.
I am very much in favor of the proposed changes. I’ve long thought that the shows need to be more up-to-the-minute in their topics and spontaneous in their discussions. I am more likely these days to watch Backstage or Lightning Round than any other episode of any other show. Applaud the suggested cosmetic changes too.
I say this as someone who always loved TSL best. I haven’t been able to watch that regularly in over a year.
I’ll save my comments about the “covid amnesty” for the separately posted show.
Bill’s series on the cold war is in my opinion one of the finest works ever produced and should be mandatory learning in all schools systems in this country for middle and high school ages. It is truly a masterpiece and it was done without a penny of tax payer funds, unlike all the crap PBS puts out. I would vote that PBS funding be diverted to BWN for the next 10 years just to see what the difference in the attitude of the country would become.
To address Scott’s argument there were local doctors who attended council meetings and held local press conferences speaking out against the cdc because these doctors were on the ground actually observing the pathology of the virus and using actual science to deal with it. The government tried shutting them down and taking their licenses. If it seems like it would be the republicans just getting back at democrats well we can’t help it was all democrat run cities that were using the pandemic to abuse and gain more power.. there were 2 doctors in CA early on that met with the local news explaining how to treat covid, the lockdowns weren’t necessary and they got censored, the video got pulled.
There is also the evidence of Fauci’s emails with the doctors who were working on this gain of function research that caused the virus. To say this guy didn’t know what he was doing or didn’t have evil intentions is naiveq. You have to get rid of that department and give control back to the states and local government. Well we really need to return to a constitutional republic and if we don’t take back the congress Nov 8 we could be pass that point

I think the book that Steve referenced about submarine spy operation is Blind Man’s Bluff by by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew. It’s a fascinating book (also available as an audio book, Scott).
Google trends will increasingly lean toward leftist searches, since most Conservatives stopped using “Bloogle”. So if your focus is on exposing leftists to Truth, then yes, check with Google trends. Jesus didn’t preach to the righteous.
I tend to think the fact that you do all your shows in one day for the week could hinder your exposure some. I get that’s how you have to do it, but I do think staying on the breaking news would boost your viewer numbers and all. But what do I know…I’ve only been in the entertainment industry for around 40 years…lol.
I agree with Steve and Bill on this one Scott. Fauci willfully conspired to lie to the American people. And it’s not the first time he’s done it. Now there’s growing evidence that the NIH may have intentionally released the virus. The double standard Bill mention is part of that evidence. IDK what all occurred, but intentions were far less than honorable.
I stopped watching anything from the Daily Wire…right about the time they sequestered Candace Owens behind the paywall, keeping her content for those who could afford their membership. Part of the reason falls back on what seems to be a contractual requirement that all hosts refer to Jeremy Boring as “god-king”. There’s nothing funny about that kind of exaltation. All that, and with other issues, it seems to me they’re nothing more than the Right-wing version of elites. I took issue with each one of the hosts for various reasons, but that’s my consensus anyway.
Addicted to Klavan, agree with Daily Wire’s premise that a competing media must be fostered, appreciate Shapiro more and more, access PragerU through there, and really like that when Harry’s Razors clutched their pearls and pulled out they had enough moxie to start a competing brand.
I still like Klavan just fine. Although after the 2020 election fiasco, he had such a classic Republican defeatist attitude about verifying the election results. That it being a waste of time.
Even if he was right, and likely it’ll turn out that way, it was that he just kept mentioning it in every show for about a week.
So at that time, I was cutting back on daily political content sources, to devote more time for Biblical studies. So I cut his show out early on. Just as daily viewing mind you. I just haven’t been back since others on the DW disappointed me in their own ways. (long, long, story) In short: it feels all too upper crust to me. I’m from working class stock.
Klavan is one I would add back in to my list…he was always my favorite. But right now, my primary, daily views only go to these guys here, Bongino, and Louder with Crowder. And Crowder’s show has his shortcomings that I haven’t decided yet, if they’re too bad that I’d drop the show entirely, or just Mug Club membership.
“The Truth and Beauty” by Klavan would be right up your alley. Promise. Very impactful for me personally.
I think you guys are looking at the wrong side of the coin as far as motivation for the COVID excesses perpetrated against the American people are concerned.
I don’t think it was an issue of people purposely manipulating the system scheming for a chance to grab power. I don’t think most of them are bright enough to be the Machiavellian 3 dimensional chess masters it takes to do that sort of thing.
It’s more likely they were doing what they felt they had to not to be blamed for the inevitable, unavoidable deaths that would occur from a virus released to the world by Evil Chinese Communists.
Deaths were going to happen. Lots of deaths. If they did “everything humanly possible” in prevention of COVID they thought they could avoid blame for “killing Americans”. Then they could blame their political adversaries for killing Americans.
This was a cold blooded political calculation. I’m not making excuses for them or advocating forgiveness on a legal or political level.
We can be certain that’s what it was because that’s the weapon they used on Donald Trump and the more staunch Republican leaders. They tried to blame Donald Trump et. al. for the disease and the deaths it caused. They were trying to contrast their oh-so-righteous concern for people to the callous disregard for the victims of COVID that they said was the position of Republicans. (Because while that is stupid, it allowed for a lot of obvious things that the public couldn’t help but notice.)
Then when that attack had some effect they were left with the fact that the deaths continued even worse and were directly coupled with economic and educational blight both in local/state Democrat areas and on a National scale now under a Democrat Leftist puppet.
It was evil to use that tactic and not only was it evil, it contained the elements that would cause a serious backlash. They were unwittingly sowing the seeds of their own destruction … Which proves my point about them not being all that bright.
The result is the same whether it was an intentional grab for power for power’s sake, or it was simply stupid, cowardly, short-sighted politicians trying to avoid blame and weaponize blame against their opposition.
In matters of legal and political argument, motivation is a significant factor. That’s why I’m applying the well known principle of never attributing to evil what can be sufficiently explained by stupidity (and/or cowardice, short-sightedness, etc.) Evil is still involved but it’s the evil of the idiot not the evil of some dark genius political mastermind.
Something you should take into account is all criminals and social deficients are opportunists. They cannot resist the risks, seizing any opportunity when it presents itself. This slavish dedication to opportunism is a hallmark of criminality. It’s like honey to a bear; irresistible and usually comes with a lot of very painful stings. COVID presented the perfect storm of opportunism for people who could not resist due to their criminal mentality.
The thing is, if you want to hold these people accountable and I do, then you have to look in the right place for the reasons they did the thing they need to be held accountable for. That’s where you’ll find the evidence and justification to hold them accountable. You don’t look in the silverware drawer to find a mixing bowl or a frying pan. If you don’t look in the right drawer you don’t find what you’re looking for.
The one place we should start holding people accountable is the people who built the damned virus and let it loose in the first place. Everything flows from that nexus so we need to be taking that to our political leadership.
Make China provide evidence that this wasn’t an intentional attack on the rest of the world and a convenient overpopulation control method for the Red Chinese Government for starters and we’ll go from there. That this came from a lab in China is no longer in question no matter what they say and they will lie anyway. Whether intentional or negligent, China is still liable for the damage and if you want to stop them from doing things like this again it’s gotta hurt the Communist leadership of China really, rally badly.
Great discussions, guys! I enjoyed the heated arguments that remained respectful between you and it was clear all of you have similar foundations; perhaps different ideas of how to address the issues. This is what we need in Congress.
if the local or state did not listen to Fauchi, they were targeted by the federal authorities and the media, and called murderers, did you forget this? the media was calling for concentration camps, did you forget? concentration camps were set up and used in my country, Scott. do you know how we prevent this, we have Nuremberg level trials for these people, that is the only way that has ever worked.
Scott, you keep on claiming that so many were acting in good faith or just following orders – but the end result is that so many of us faced wrongful firing over an unconstitutional vaccine mandate. That was wrong, and in all other areas of society when someone faces wrongful firing they are entitled to justice, sometimes via the civil courts but sometimes via criminal courts as well.
Improving our process in the future to avoid the mistakes of the past is fine but it doesn’t exclude the necessity for justice.
All the other SpaceX competitors are trying to sell horses and buggies in the 1980s.
If these universities want more Blacks, make your campus more appealing to blacks who are able to handle the rigorous education you claim to provide. There’s plenty of smart people of color. Affirmative action defines one race as less than another. It is demeaning and wrong. Malcolm X hated it, for G-d’s sake. Read Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell on the issue. Then tell me it is right to do.
“The Great Influenza”, one of my favorite non-fiction books, reviews medical care prior to the pandemic and what this horror unleashed in terms of advances in science. This “Spanish Flu” killed 20% of people and especially killed people with good immune systems, previously healthy 22-year-olds getting sick and dying of hypoxia 36 hours later. George Bush read this text and went to Fauci, worried about our preparedness. CoVid-19 triggered what was created out of that concern. The CDC overreacted and then politicized, failing miserably in their ‘reason for being’.
But my opinion, Steve, is that we don’t abandon the CDC. Trim it down and make it do what it is supposed to do, namely recognize pandemics and react quickly and appropriately. The current CDC is wasting money duplicating other department’s interests, is political, and plays with Monopoly money, granted. But it is one of the agencies I might keep, if run correctly. As for 3 or 4 other major Departments (Commerce, etc.), good riddance, don’t let the door hit you in the butt.
I also want you guys to succeed. But I would miss Backstage as it is now. Especially the stuff that has nothing to do with your topics.
Like taking about the Falcon Heavy launch. And the movie Scott talked about. And a way back, there was a bit about Foghorn Leghorn and Spinal Tap that I book marked as it was hilarious. Watch it every so often and still laugh. Maybe rebranding Backstage to a free flowing talk about anything.
I’m not sure.
But go for it! Ill survive in any case.
And trust me. Ill let you know about your new format.
I had a second cousin growing up who was a “participant” in the Bay of Pigs incident. He was a tugboat captain in Fort Lauderdale when he wasn’t absent from his family for long periods of time. We all thought he was a truant, neglectful father and husband. I was only aware of him later in life. He had a vertical indentation in his forehead where a fellow soldier mistook him for the enemy and struck him with a rifle butt when island hopping in the Pacific as a Sea Bee.
Learned after his passing of his history. Boy, would I like to have a talk with him now.
The main booster was expend because of the weight of the payload. They needed to save weight so the main booster didn’t get landing fuel.
