Right Angle: Backstage (11-10-2020)

Many new Members will “enjoy” this, their first installment of Right Angle Backstage.

Many new Members will “enjoy” this, their first installment of Right Angle Backstage.

And then you have the majority of Members, to whom we express profound contrition, without true repentance.

Thank you.

The ONLY fix for this country (short of civil war) is fire ALL of the teachers and replace with ZOOM school that teaches reading writing and arithmetic. Home schooling is the ONLY way to stop the government from usurping parental guidance. Parental guidance is the only teacher of freedom.

Good show. I’m basic and I appreciate A little special content for my membership so there’s that. I’ve been watching ALL the different channels I can find. I’m not too savvy but I think this choice was worthwhile. I’m A single 60 yr old so I can say what I want without embarrassing anyone other than myself. I’m used to that. You guys remind me of some people in my life…real and imagined. Ill tell you about them sometime.

Hi guys!
Really enjoyed my first member video! Thought it was time to step up! I live in liberal land but am gradually finding ways to communicate conservative beliefs. Most people live like conservatives in their families but unfortunately vote liberal. I try to help them realize that they are actually conservatives except for their hate of Trump. They have never heard a contrary thought in their life!

I’ve also noticed that the amount of Member comments has increased for each video… so I’m going to throttle down my own comments so that the new Members can find out what it’s like to join the BW-o-sphere (not the Stratosphere, that’s only part of it…)

FWIW, Dan Bongino, who has a rather substantial Youtube and now terrestrial radio audience, as well as what he claims is a highly visited page on FB, did just what Bill is suggesting. He moved to Parler and Rumble, and as he often reminds viewers, he also invested in both. His Rumble videos come first then they hit Youtube. In every video, he makes fun of Youtube and directs fans to join Rumble and Parler as well. He has successfully used Youtube and Twitter and Facebook to continually promote his sites on the other platforms, and it’s working. Mark Levin went over as well. Now many others. You are heading in the right direction, using FB and YT to promote your new social media “home base”, other than, of course BWDC.
The whole ‘preaching to the choir’ is right, but also wrong. Here’s what I mean. If 200,000 subscribers move from Youtube to Rumble, (or just join Rumble and keep their BWDC Youtube subscription,) and a video is posted on Rumble and Youtube….5,000 subscribers on Youtube get a notification, but all 200K get a notification via Rumble. Adding a different platform which is already expanding, even if it IS right leaning, means not getting each video throttled. How hard is this to understand?
Scott’s also onto something too. Why not be the lowest rated show on NPR? It’s a platform. If you have the time to get content on it, use it. You just might drag conservatives over to NPR , and maybe some center left over to your sites.
If they won’t allow you on, if they say ‘sorry not sorry’, use that denial against them too. “NPR”…Never Preachy Republicans. No Phony Republicans. Nasty Pretentious Republicans…. I’m sure someone else can come up with something more witty….

Which is exactly why we MUST keep the electoral college in place. If the urban population centers are allowed to control government, they will vacuum the resources (from produce, farm products and tax dollars) from the red “producers” to the blue “consumers”. The cities, with their corrupt welfare states, will bleed the rest of the country dry.

Other conservatives are doing the “YouTube and,,,” approach as you described. Don’t know if it will work but innovation and thinking outside the box ideas are what win. Marxism forces conformity and conformity didn’t build America in the first place and won’t save it in this place. Try many things.

New member, and my first time “Backstage.” Loved it!
Regarding liberals, their attitude toward free speech seems to be, “OF COURSE we believe in free speech. Now SHUT UP.”

you know… now that you are a Member, you can binge-watch all the back episodes of backstage!

Billโ€”Best mixed metaphor Iโ€™ve heard in a while: โ€œItโ€™s not rocket surgery.โ€

Also, sporting events and especially church used to be common, apolitical meeting places where you could rub elbows with people with whom you had something else in common.

the great marketplace of ideas…
you notice, since covid, we are reduced to extremely ‘local’ social contact (at least, they’ve tried to reduce us to that). I got to know quite a few of my neighbors during this time, as I was taking walks around the neighborhood (sans mask, out in the fresh air).

Have to completely agree with Scott on his reference to wanting his content to be properly carried on NPR. We all financially support that broadcasting station, but only the Left gets to make effective use of it. Either it needs to be completely defunded, and stop the ruse of supposedly being any kind of a balanced National News organ, or it needs to become what it is supposed to be, even handed and representing the nation as a whole. Offering only 99.9% hard Left bias does not equality make, and until it gets down to airing anything near 50% honest Conservative views, it should not receive a single penny in government support!

Among the approximately 90% of what government is doing these days that it has no authority to do, nor any justification for doing it anyway, running a radio station is right in there.

Bill: “You binge watched it, now you can purge watch it.”
Purge-watching: [n]
1) To watch a program or segment while locked in a small room. Often while surrounded by weapons and dry goods.
2) to attempt to gain enjoyment from watching the world around you burn.
3) to stare into the toilet in horror.

I have reconstituted my private Facebook groups on MeWe and migrated people by posting more on MeWe, and moved over to Parler and followed everyone over there that I did on Twitter.
But I’m still on Facebook and Twitter, until they inevitably ban me.

The only objection to recounts that even comes within shouting distance of being reasonable is “We’re afraid that Trump will cheat via the recounts.” We defeat that the same way we defeat every objection – we’re calling for a fully open, we all watch in full sunlight process that includes you at every point and at every level. No ordering you out of the room, no counting in secret after we’ve told everyone to go home for the night, no putting cardboard over the windows so you can’t see what’s going on. Completely transparent. So you’ll know if we’re trying to cheat because you’ll see it happening and we’ll both know the full, accurate, legally result so we can both go forward while trusting that result.

Who can possibly justifiably object to that?

I blame Scott and his damnable coffee pot. Why shouldn’t he get used to drinking cold/microwaved coffee like normal people?

I never drink iced coffee, I live in the South and it’s sweet tea down here in the summer … I was talking about hot coffee that gets cold because I forget I had a once-upon-a-time cup of hot coffee that has now become something less than warm ๐Ÿ™‚

… and a pickle spear. I like my cold tomato soup with a pickle spear, a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a couple drops of Tabasco or Tapatio.
I think we’ve wandered over into Steve’s domain now.

Agree completely. The creation of “virtual communities” destroyed personal connections gained through neighborhood block parties, kids playing together, hanging out on front porches, and so on. We’ve focused too much on staying connected to our 500 “friends” or followers instead of focusing on getting to know the couple next door. I dropped my FB account last week after 13 years…not looking back. We need to re-connect on a one-to-one basis with people like BillWhittle.com members leading the way. Those types of connections are the key IMO to getting the message out. Also, using FB & Twitter to market to Parler or using YouTube to market to Rumble is a great idea. Dan Bongino has been doing it for months and it has been very effective. While those sites are 95% conservative now, they will even out over time. I have friends who are Democrats that are tired of the progressive craziness and are moving in that direction themselves.

I also see as a contributing factor the global news awareness of every crime and incident involving children.
When I was growing up, we would walk out the door at sunup on a weekend, and not return until sunset or after. Our parents wouldn’t freak if we were gone all day, or if we came home covered in bruises, scrapes, or (in one memorable incident) ant bites! We would be told “get out the bacitracin and bandages, cover the worst bleeders, and wash your hands for dinner.”
Then came the 24-hour news cycle. Suddenly, child predators were everywhere, scrapes were an invitation to flesh-eating bacteria, and kids had to stay in the yard lest they be scooped up by white-slavers.
Nowadays, little Billy isn’t allowed to play with anything that might have sharp edges, and if his baseball team loses, he’s at the therapist for coddlingcounseling the next day.
People have forgotten the benefits of forming communities or healthy play.

And these Los Angels celebs keep threatening to move to Canada. Mexico is 2hrs down the road from them. Why do these Hollywood celebs hate brown people? Plus, Mexico has pretty stringent gun control laws.

Gentlemen, I am a new member and want to thank all of you. This is the first laugh that I have had in a week. Truly appreciate all the humor and the insight. Looking forward to future shows.

My personal preference is a nice big hot mug of strong 100% Arabica Columbian Supremo. I buy it in 5 lb. bags of roasted beans. Then it’s freshly ground immediately before brewing in an old Krupps burr grinder I’ve had for decades … with cold filtered water.

The problem with nice big hot mugs is they eventually become 1/4 mugs of cold coffee. Still good but no longer hot.

Like you, I have one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sometimes more, depending on circumstances (or the fact that it just tastes so dang good).

I think we’re a dying breed, half the people I know don’t drink any coffee at all or if they do it’s decaf *shudder*.

Life is too short to waste it on bad coffee, bad beer, or bad bourbon. I’d rather drink less of each but what I do drink is wholly worthy.

One of my basic philosophies as I have gotten older. I don’t skimp on the quality of things, just only consume what I can afford.
I drink good espresso, black with a twist of orange peel. A double in the morning and a double in the afternoon. So they don’t last long enough to get cold. Other than that water all day.
Same for wine and whisk(e)y.
I am ready for fall as I like to make my own simple syrup with cinnamon steeped into it. Makes a great old fashioned with a nice spicy whiskey like Bulleit.
Like my avatar I am partial to Lagavulin but most Islay single malts are acceptable.

Was it the Nixon election that prompted the New York woman to say she didn’t know anyone who voted for him? That’s the ultimate self segregation.

One other advantage that physical association has over virtual groups is you cannot control who you encounter. At the ball park, block party or school event, you’ll get like minded sane folks, checked out non-politicals, low information vote anyway people and the strident lefties with the inner Nazi trying to puppet the school board. That last group does have to restrain themselves at least a little because otherwise they’ll probably get either punched or sidelined. The moderating effect does help people recognize that the others are also people, and not as we have to say online “there is a person on the other keyboard”.

I am proud to say I restrained myself to one RA episode a day last week. Since I only watch through the site (so it doesn’t matter where you host them) I saw them all up at once and guessed you guys just posted them together.

Who wants to live by a pack of lying scum? I don’t care if it IS in a gated community I won’t abide a Democrat and their Leftist Lapdog media running around anywhere near my residence.

Antisocial media —
I’ve worked at multiple jobs going on sixty years. In each, most people were born in, or at least raised for most of their lives in, the USA. As such, they were inculcated with basic Americanism. Something I wouldn’t expect from someone who moved here as an adult.
Google, facebook, twitter are using more and more H1Bs for their workforce. That means fewer and fewer of their employees are brought up with Americanism in their veins.
Therefore, the H1Bs when presented with decisions, don’t think as Americans would, and it would follow that unAmerican stuff like blocking free speech, denying basic equity, etc., don’t bother them as much as it would someone born and raised in an American environment.
So, the unAmerican crap that Google, facebook, and twitter are handing out and showing in their decisions to block free speech, doesn’t surprise me. They’re not imbued with Americanism.

unfortunately, 22 year olds, steeped in a Standard University education are quite unAmerican in their outlook. That is another reason we are seeing people like AOC breaking out the Lenin playbook (instead of keeping the playbook hidden).
Remember when Democrats would remember to NOT say the quite part out loud, and we had to detect what they meant like a Sovietologist determining what was going on at a May day parade on Red Square?
Now AOC is talking about making lists in the open. And she is not the only one…

If you go to the “Shows” above and click on “backstage” in the drop down by Right Angle, you can see them all.

Bill, I think the closest this we still have to a public gathering of residents is the old fashioned neighborhood block party. Some of the HOAs in my area have them and they can get rowdy at times, especially if outsiders try to attend, unless you were invited.

I think there are guidelines for each state. Last time there were several who did not vote for Trump. I think they are referred to as “faithless electors”. But technically they can vote as they see fit.

It’s almost like they expect us to just accept what they say as the law of the land and the Constitution is something that we Heliots need not worry ourselves over.

Weird.

Have one comment. Looking back at the other backstage thumbnails, you guys need some new wardrobe additions. A lot of the same shirts. Trudumb is a feckless idiot. He is doing perfectly what he wants to do. As well as the MSM in the U.S. our media caters to whatever the Progressives want. So our not so Honorable PM gets away with pretty much whatever he wants. I expect Canada to become a third world country in the next 25 years.
