Regarding light bulbs and “switching the light on” etc. — I have a friend who (humorously) makes the case that since light is the absence of dark, then therefore light bulbs are in fact DARK SUCKERS and that they don’t produce light, rather they attract the dark in the room, suck it up until there is no dark left, and THAT is what produces what we call light.

I read that Apple was going to produce more movies for theaters to try and get people back (though not sure it was Apple or Amazon or someone else I read doing that).

The problem with the idea of the rich wanting to keep the poor poor is that is an idea held by people that never make anything and think the economy is a zero sum pie. Of course they’re not willing to give up all of their wealth to help the poor… no they are not, in their own minds, rich.
Some states are blue because of one blue city, by square foot you’re more likely to live next to reds. The 51/49 states are more purple, because sometimes the Democrat party puts up someone that middle 2% doesn’t like.
on Zo’s topic.. one quote I remember is “let your yes be yes and your no be no, anything more comes from the evil one” related to not using curses or swearing to claim what you say is truth.

From Bill’s reading of the second quote, it sounds like the guy is being pedantic or splitting hairs… he is saying there might be intelligence he cannot find, and by not finding anything he isn’t saying there isn’t something out there. Maybe.
I forget which book, or maybe computer game, did make a point that humans came in different colors, while others were either more uniform in color or other characteristics.
I remember Biil’s Moon episode, around Christmas one year I think.
If there is no one out there, yes that means no competition for the good spots, but also… no one is gonna come along later and bulldoze our houses for the new Intergalactic superhighway.

I’ve been watching Right Angle since before they started producing the show. This change confuses and frightens me. 8^P
I, along with so many of the membership, am one of the Ancient Peoples who migrated over the ice bridge from Declaration Entertainment, and before that, the land of PJTV, with stops along the way at Truth Revolt, NRA TV and so on and so on.
I am also trying to figure out how to get my R/A Fix, but not waste time in watching the same thing twice, yet trying to boost the numbers in YT and Rumble. It’s a burden, I know…but we do what we can, right?
As an “Ancient Peoples”, I’m a little old school, well, actually more like pre school….I actually LIKE production quality in visuals and content. Imagine that. I am so old school that when I mentioned to a digital media manager at work that it’d be better to have a feature pop up when I did a ‘mouseover’ (as in, by using a mouse on a laptop…) the laughter from the millennials was deafening.
I’m terrified too with the new format, but with members of the tribe like Fluffy Goat and Brother Bob, there is safety in numbers!

I’m ancient.
I don’t watch twice. I’ve converted to only watching the backstage episode, because I don’t like repetition. If others do the same, then this will negatively affect the view counts of the shorter cuts. Oh well, all of these were programming decisions made in spite of me.
Although we have a moon to protect us from astrological collisions, nearby planets do not. A significant impact on the moon, or even Mars, with no atmosphere or other protective body, could result in another timeline reset, or none. Yes, it is a miracle, at least.
So…they are searching for “intelligence” but they don’t know how to define “intelligence”? All I can say is, defund SETI. Let them find themselves on their own dime.
Searching for life – on Earth: Wouldn’t the first signal any alien world detect from Planet Earth be a radio signal, most likely one from a Jack Benny broadcast?
Only those within ~100 light years of our little, blue planet. It also depends upon whether or not such aliens can discriminate our noise from the cosmic background.
