Ron’s and Mrs. Ron’s Excellent Weekend Adventure

The following is a true tale of a weekend in America.

This past weekend, Mrs. Ron and I travelled out of the People’s Republic of Virginia, crossing the border into a more free land known as Tennessee. Our reason for such an outlandish trip: the wedding of our friends’ son in Knoxville. Friday evening there was a cocktail hour and the venue which consisted of a bluegrass quartet playing on the patio; people consuming various adult beverages and tasty morsels. And get this: No guests were wearing masks. People were dancing and talking and hugging and living and breathing as if we liked each other and weren’t afraid of, well, everything.
Karen and her husband Chad sent their regrets.

The hotel at which we stayed had a classic car club in attendance with people at the bar, also showing their smiles to the world. There was even a prom on Saturday night.

Saturday,  before the wedding we went to Market Square in Knoxville, where, unfortunately, there were still some restrictions, though not once you sat down. And these were mostly by shop. Many had a variation of the following: Please wear a mask, if you don’t have one on we will assume you have a medical condition about which we cannot ask.

The wedding itself was glorious. 175 people eating drinking and dancing on a crowded dance floor to an absolutely kick ass band. I could even stand that they ended the night by playing that horrid Rocky Top song. Well, we were by UT.

It was, all-in-all a very NORMAL weekend with old friends and new ones we hadn’t met yet.

Oh, and I got to try Chattanooga Whiskey, both the 111 and 91 and purchased a bottle of both at a Wine and Spirit shop, in which nobody was wearing a mask.

America is still out there folks, just need to look for it!

Thanks, Davey. It was probably more enjoyable than described. Especially nice to see young people who had not surrendered their liberty to the elites. There is hope for us and it was nice to see it in bloom.

So sorry to hear Karen and Chad couldn’t make it! LOL.

I have a friend in Florida. Her daughter and grandson just visited. Grandson in early twenties particularly enjoyed the freedom of a non-lockdown environment. They live in France, and you have to say within a few kilometers of your house. Can only be out from 6am to 6pm. Sad.

Thank God for our republic and Republican governors with a backbone. Leftist wokeristas, which is basically the entire Democratic Party at this point, are going to be left behind by states like Tennessee.

Hope you guys regain your freedom in the People’s Republic of Virginia. I believe Nazi Northam is up for ejection in 2022. Give him das boot!!!

God bless. So glad to hear you and your wife enjoyed yourself as FREE AMERICANS!!!

VA is an odd state wrt elections in the commonwealth. You can serve as governor as many times as you can get elected, but you cannot serve consecutive terms. So Gov Jolsen cannot run this year. But former Gov McAuliffe is free to run again. And will likely win. As a Clintonista, I am sure that Terry can’t wait to start writing EOs like mad and calling everything a health crisis. This is his phrase now for gun violence, an epidemic that needs to be treated like a health crisis. One guess what he means by that.

Very sorry to hear that. May God save you and the great state of Virginia. I really enjoyed your post. Gives everyone hope. Thanks for sharing.
