I am sure you have all heard the comments by Nancy P. regarding the inappropriateness of the Pres. Award Trump presented to Rush at the SOTU speech. To be honest on the surface I agree with Pelosi. Really the presentation of the award would have been more appropriate in the Rose Garden or something along those lines. BUT… The reality is- if Trump had done a private presentation it is likely many people would never hear about it. The MS media would have buried the presentation. Trump did an end run around the slim media and put this presentation into a slot that highlighted the event in a way it was impossible for the slim to ignore.
Bravo! Attention well deserved. I am glad Trump managed to upend the media once again. Perfect. Rush was the first radio host I heard speaking truth. For me, the man was hard to listen to in those days. I was in the process of shifting from being far on the left to just barely on the right. Rush was an outstanding teacher for a hungry truth seeker. Bill called him, “the father of us all”. I agree. He laid the foundation and his work will be remembered.

Well spoken. Well done. I think you have successfully captured a part (but far from all) of just what Rush means to us. Bill, I agree with you that Rush ranks in the Top 5 Americans of all time. His impact has been incalculable. Thanks for talking about him in the way you both did.

I’m older than the three of you and have never been on the left, Rush was the first national voice to make us feel we weren’t alone, locally we had Bob Grant who Rush made a point of seeking out and thanking when he started in NY. Before that we had the entire media establishment implying there was only Democrat and Democrat-lite ( the Rockefeller wing) anything further right was crazy. Rush confirmed our belief which we knew all along, that most of the country is like us. It was important to the left to keep us from finding each other.

If anything, I hope Trump “fast tracks” a Presidential Medal of Freedom for Rush, as only Lowell Thomas (’77) and Paul Harvey (’05) have received it for radio work.

Loved the show. You guys do a great job, always, and especially on this one for Rush. I especially loved what Bill said at the end, about Rush not needing to fear the afterlife. But let’s hope Rush does like John Wayne, beats it and is with us for many more years. Would like to see him enjoy the good times to come, and as Scott said, it’s a diagnosis. So many prayers going out for Rush.

It is weird, but after he took off some time for Christmas, and then extended his Birthday weekend, I had a weird feeling. I talked to a friend about it and we both expressed a concern of “what would we do if something happened to Rush”? I guess I just thank God that he paved the way for all of you other wonderfully conservative talk show hosts. Bill, Scott, and Steve, You are equally wonderful and I appreciate and thank God for You! Prayers to Rush…..

Sad news, but as Scott said it is a diagnosis not a sentence. True. I remember when John Wayne was diagnosed with this disease. He lost a lung right before filming “The Sons of Katie Elder,” but he kept on going for years afterward, over a decade. Rush is the flagship of conservatism in terms of radio. He has always been able to take the principles of conservatism and explain it in ways anyone can understand. He seems to be quite a decent person. Some of his terms still tickle me: “drive-by media;” “femi-nazis;” “intellect on loan from God.” LOL, you gotta admire that audacity. He is sick now, but he is a fighter and by no means is he out. I will keep him and his family in my prayers.

Thank you Rush! And thank you Scott for your reminder that this is a diagnosis not a sentence. My mother was given a few months to live because of stage 4 cancer and God must not have been through with her because that was almost 30 years ago, She is 93 now. So I will be joining in prayer that God is not finished with Rush, in this life anyway, and He will let us keep him for a quite a bit longer. Great show as always guys.

Awesome show guys. Bill I remember hearing that golf club story and feeling a tingle in my body thinking, oh, oh, this is going to be national news and having a good belly laugh. All of America owes Rush a big thank you whether they know it or not. He is probably the person most responsible for the fact that America is still here and a Sovereign Nation. Think of the chain of events that would have been America after 8 years of Clinton…. Gore…. Gore or Kerry… Obama.. Obama.. Hillary. In my opinion the country would be unrecognizable. I am humbly praying in the name of Jesus for a complete recovery for Rush and many more year of his influence.

Mark Steyn pointed out that radio has been around for roughly a hundred years so Rush has been on the air for about a third of the entire life of the medium.

It is truly sad news. Unfortunately, I know much more about the experience than I ever wanted to know. Early in 2016, my wife of almost 60 years was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We sought treatment, found it, and it sort of worked but not quite. Early in March 2017, the cancer ended her life. Devastating is much too mild of a word to describe the experience. I would’t wish such a thing on my worst enemy. All I can do is wish him and his family the best and send my best thoughts.

You know, it’s funny. Diana died, and I didn’t cry. Kobe died, and I didn’t cry. But when I saw the headline about Rush yesterday, my eyes have been welling with tears ever since. He has been my hero, my white knight, and at times the only one it seemed who felt as I did, and as strongly as I did.
All the things you said about him are true. He is irreplaceable. The one thing he has that noone else does is that he UNDERSTANDS the liberals. While most of us are blown away by their insanity, he gets it. He knows why they do what they do, and what they will do next.
I will pray for him every day.

My favorite story akin to the golf club retrieval, a writer made an issue of his lack of a college degree so Rushed mused that they should talk ‘ Maybe I could send my plane to bring him to my estate’

Rush, where do we begin. I remember hearing him on a distant AM station, back in the late ’80s.. Been a faithful follower ever since.. What a ride.. We owe Rush so much, it’s incalculable.. Rush is our Paul Revere.., a true American Icon and a Hero.., bc we celebrate our successes with Donald Trump today, bc of the heavy lifting..done by him.., Remember “Dan’s Cookie Sale”? Our first Tea Party.. THANK YOU RUSH.. We have your back.. God Bless you.

I’ve listened to a few really great people in the last 12 years or so. Rush, Michael Savage, Glen Beck (for a while), Wild Bill for America, Bill Whittle and Right Angle (especially) and enjoyed each in different ways. Rush is always the voice of reason and courtesy. Michael Savage reflects our outrage at the visible destruction of the greatest nation on Earth. Whittle and Scott and Steve have been the most important overall in keeping me hopeful and positive, even through the worst of the BHO reign of terror. Each have contributed part of who I’ve evolved to be, just as each older member of my family influenced me in their own special way as I was growing up. I’m forever grateful to all the voices and minds I’ve been blessed with hearing and watching over the years. I’m a cancer survivor, but only because it was in just one, thankfully, removable area. My prayers are with those of millions of people that Rush can be healed, but whenever he does leave this Vale of Tears, his legacy will live on for a long time to come.

Dang, I forgot to mention Joe Dan Gorman and his Intellectual Froglegs videos. Who can ever forget his on target commentary, his humor, and the great music he incorporates into his videos.

You might try listening to Glenn again, Cathy. My wife and I catch his radio show quite often. Some are so-so, but some are really great. In fact, he gave one of the best tributes to Rush on this morning’s show that I’ve heard yet and I’ve heard a number of them (e.g. Hannity, Levin, Elder). I am seriously thinking of joining the Blaze network.

I just don’t listen to the radio much at all anymore. I’m retired and stay home most of the time. I’ll try to catch more on the interwebz, though, in between Whittle productions and chatting with the many foreign friends I’ve gathered on Facebook.
