Saturday Night Videos – Jersey Boys – Metal Edition!

Welcome back, Stratoloungers! As a sequel to last week’s video featuring some of The Garden State’s greatest, this week we return with a focus on the hard rock/metal genre! Let’s jump right in:

OK, I know what you’re thinking. A member of Bon Jovi covering one of Hendrix’s greatest songs? Like me, your initial reaction of hearing that this existed might be somewhere between minor itching and irritation to projectile vomiting. But when I gave it a listen, I was pleasantly surprised. Sambora did a great job of respecting the original while modernizing a classic. All I can say is, give it a chance!

You probably never heard of Xenon unless you lived somewhere between the outskirts of New York City down to the Jersey Shore back in the late 80s. But at one time they were called by some music writer “The best unsigned band in America.” This wasn’t their biggest song, but my personal favorite:

I promised some Sinatra last week, and while Old Blue Eyes isn’t hard rock, this DLR cover qualifies!

And there’s no better tribute to the greatest state in the USA than from these South Jersey Boys!

Who ya got?
