Secession Fever: Split Your State to Isolate Progressive Policies

Across the country movements arise to split states along political lines, often with conservatives working to isolate progressive policies from harming them. Is this the way to deal with political divisions, or does the Constitution need a re-write to take into account the rural-urban divide that that would shock the Framers.

The difference between urban areas and the rest of the state is an economic one. The Cities are sink holes. They rob the rest of the states of tax money to fund their endless entitlements. I believe when a city becomes such a population behemoth that it votes all the funds of the states to fund itself, it needs to be broken off from the state to become its own state, therefore the city has to live within its on means and stop sucking the life out of the rest of the state.

Could the founders imagine population centers like NY or LA? I think it’s undeniable that they were very familiar w/ the writings of the ancient Greeks and Romans so they undoubtedly were aware Rome had a population of well over a million during it’s height.

What they may not have groked is the political dominance of a city over an entire state. Back in Roman times, and really before the modern era, the concentrated power of a city was balanced out by the farmers. Famers whom the cities were utterly dependant on to eat. I think modern corporate farming has broken that balance of power. Maybe. The “farmers” are now corporate execs and middle management looking to hit they’re quarterly targets. All working in high rise office buildings in… Cities. The people actually on the farms & ranches are increasingly being replaced by machines and tend to be employees of the company in the city. Or, at least utterly financially dependant on the City people.

Once again, Bill has nailed it. What he didn’t express (unless I missed it) is that the changing of policies so that we can’t move away from what we don’t like is not a bug, it’s a feature.

Whether or not Letfists/Progressives/Marxists know that their policies don’t work (does it matter?), they can’t allow their subjects to escape. You can’t get away from them within the country; you can’t get away with anything other than the shirt on your back if you want to get out of the country, if they allow you to leave at all.

The lemmings who follow the dangerous ideology of a Comrade Bernie don’t realize the danger until they’re the target. By then it’s too late.

On a similar note: did you see the Bernster’s reaction when he got booed by TWO people in the audience at the last debate? Wow, did his mask slip! That should have been a huge warning sign to the indoctrinated, but it won’t be.

Education is the variable. Leftist teachers concentrate in cities and hippy towns. You need to reform the universities and teaching collages and education itself. That’s Betsy DeVos’s job. That’s also why she has a secret service body guard that is the third largest personal USSS bodyguard in Washington.

Half the antifa fanatics arrested are teachers and school staff not unemployed goons living with their mother. These are also the people who volunteer to count votes in school gyms in November. Teaching schools are churning out teachers that are corrupted with Marxism, Bernie sanders socialism & LGBT fanaticism. They go one to teach children, lawyers (who become judges) & public servants their worldview. Its a worldwide problem.

The good news is the corona-virus may shut down all schools on the urban west coast! Forcing home schooling & digital school. A Facebook friend, Patri Friedman, is already self quarantining his family. He’s doing daily vlogs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8sja-h2Rgg

It may shut down all of California and Washington state as it has China.

Bingo. Like doing a maze puzzle backwards, it always comes back to the “education” system. If we don’t take it back, we’re shoveling shit against the tide.

There is one fairly simple way to segregate the power centers, Bill. We live in a digital age. We don’t have to meet in a big hall with chairs in Congress.

Eliminate the existing States and confer the rights and privileges (and political position) of a State to all counties. Put 3,142 stars on the flag. Bring the Senate to 6,284 members, chosen by their respective governments, let the House grow to however many districts each new microstate wants to assign, and elect them. Let Congress meet online in a vast simulated space like the Empire did in Star Wars.

Of course, being humans, we’d screw it up right away with coalition blocks that force their concepts on everybody else, but at least the suburban and rural zones would have a fighting chance to keep their ways of life.

I need to correct Bill somewhat. A lot of the places out in the country we’re packed in much tighter than 4 miles. It is really crowded in a lot of places with so many people trying to move out from the city we really don’t have any more room and people should just give up the idea.

So please, just stay in your cities. Then again, if you persist in thinking milk comes out of a jug at the store and bread just appears on the shelf and all the pretty pictures of fields of grain are just paintings of grassland (had someone not know what wheat looked like and walked all over several feet of it messing around… idiots) then maybe we do need to schedule field trips. Like safaris, just without needing a passport. (I started off making a joke and it got serious on me.)

I would also guess that the Framers were living in a time of fire brigade (not quite our full on paid fire departments) but cooperative public services, police, sanitation and sewerage. There would have been cities in Europe with more people living in tighter groups they would also have experience with, although the migration of people into the cities due to the Industrial revolution hadn’t happened yet.

London in 1760 had almost 750,000 people, I seem to recall.
They knew what cities could become.

Exactly. I think sometimes we forget what people knew and how big and busy some of the cities were, even then. We think of technology and advances in science radically changing society, and they certainly have, but as often as “they knew their greek democracy and philosophers” is mentioned, people might miss that those ideas were what… 2000 years old by then? 1700 at minimum, if you want go back to some of the Roman statesmen.

It really seems like so many people behave as if history started in 2008. It’s sad if you think about it.

We have a good model now in the electoral college for electing our president. Maybe we need something on the individual state level now. Like giving each county one electoral vote, to determine who their Governor and representatives will be. As well as giving the whole state the power to choose who will be president instead of letting the population center’s determine that for all.

That was the intent of the Senate in its original Constitutional form–before the 17th Amendment.

For that matter, as much as I’d hate the idea of living in the District, I’d be willing to take one for the team and let DC take Arlington, VA back for the sake of the rest of Virginia.
Hell, the reason we’re Virginians in the first place was so that Democrats living in the District could keep their slaves

How come I can only up vote this once?
Yes, rather than the rest of us join WVa, we should make NoVa part of DC.

Sending us to Maryland would be a viable option too. Again, no desire to live under the Lefties who control that state but I’m willing to take that one for the team as well

I think an important point to make here that Bill missed is that black communities look to black leaders. The black leaders are willingly and knowingly repressing and causing racism in their communities to uplift their political and hierarchical status. They know that if their communities think for themselves and leave the plantation, they will loose their power. They want to keep living high on the hog, so they keep lying to their people and those people don’t want to be ostracized by their own colored skinned brethren, so they toe the line and stay on the plantation and stay ignorant.

That is why you see guys like Zo and many other black free thinkers not ever calling for black anything, they call for american values. They call for morality towards each other, not acceptance of skin color. Things that MLK also pushed for. I’m quite certain MLK was offed due to his rallying of the black community against the democrats. To even have the slightest thought that those people are not in government or in power places to keep this racial divide would be naive and wrong. You can see it by how they do everything possible to keep racism alive and for us to make distinctions towards black and white. I could care less, I want to look as you as a fellow human being who thinks and breaths and has their own thoughts. At that point I will judge you on your ignorance and actions.

Be sure to share people like Zo’s video’s with others. Hodge twins. Kevin… I forget his name, he was a big one at one point but got silenced quickly. Make sure people know who Thomas Sowell is also. Make sure they understand that people like jessie jackson and these other “religious” leaders are not looking out for any ones interest but their own. Especially guys like Neil degrass tyson. These people who use their credentials in one field to actively lie to you in another field.

The difference is one group wants their INDIVIDUAL rights respected and will respect others INDIVIDUAL rights. This means that ANY interaction between individuals must be strictly and mutually VOLUNTARY. The other group believes only the group has rights and the individual is subject to the whims of the group without limit. The group can do anything and take anything it wants simply BECAUSE it wants it.

With the first group, Government must keep hands off each and every individual unless and until the given individual forcefully violates the INDIVIDUAL rights of another individual.

With the second group, Government, may intrude in minute detail into the lives of the individual because the individual only has the “rights” granted to him by the government. What the government can give, the Government can take and usually does.

It is a contradiction both in words and fact to expect ANY degree of compromise between these two groups. They are mutually exclusive! It is because of this contradiction that everything has become politicize. Government, then becomes a center of power and control, clash of interest groups, and corruption without boundary or reform.

Which do you want? Freedom or Tyranny? Individualism or Collectivism? Capitalism or Communism? Thriving Life or Living Death? They are, in essence, all the same choice. You can have one or the other but not both. There is no middle ground.
