The nation is staunchly divided. The administration is actively making a point of cramming through EO’s and signaling backing of legislation that is diametrically opposed to the founding philosophies of the United States and of the 75+ million Americans that oppose their rule. The country seems to be divided down the middle on the fundamental issues of society with one side seeking to widen that gap. I used to think I would take my family and move to a place that represented our values (see: Florida, Texas, North Dakota, etc.), but I now see that as a losing strategy. It’s to silo yourself and wait to be surrounded. How can we live together if our side’s “live and let live” individualism is continued to be viewed by the other side as oppression?

The 75M has to make up their mind whether they stand up against the oppression or continue to support it.
By the looks 99+% decided to go for the latter. For the likely outcome you can look at many other countries that already walked that path. You can’t even say there was no warning.
In my personal life, I disassociate from toxic people and situations in as much as it is possible, which for me is close to 100%. Daily I ponder how it is that one half of the country allows the other half to systematically destroy that which affects ALL of us. The only might one side has over the other is a willingness to come together to defeat the other. The Left has done that. The Right has not. The Left cares not for rules, laws, honesty, integrity, truth, morality, i.e., respects none of the virtues, while the Right lives by them – not perfectly, of course, but at least there is an acknowledgment that to do so makes a better person, city, state and country.
You are right – we are an unequivocally divided country and I cannot see that the twain shall meet ever again. Nor should it. My concern is that I can say without a doubt that the Left will not compromise. I cannot say that about the Right.
I don’t believe the Left regards the Right as oppressors – that is a deceit they hide behind. They understand that the Right is between them and utter control which is the pinnacle of success in their twisted minds and corrupted souls. They desire nothing more than to enslave the majority to serve them, but to do that they must conquer the Right. So far, they are winning, with their zombified troops, who are lost to any semblance of autonomy and will robotically follow their master’s directions. Just watch the video Troy Harding posted of Ami Horowitz interviewing people (zombies) in Minneapolis who believe that whites should be killed and their cities burned in retribution for the crimes they’ve committed against blacks. This is horrifying in its ignorance and utter disregard for reality. Maxine Waters will go unpunished for her incendiary behavior, and Derek Chauvin’s life has been ruined; it is entirely likely that he will not survive very long in prison. Wrong on so many levels, yet just another example of the depths to which humans can sink.
I agree completely. Well said. I just don’t know where we go from here. The right may concede, but people like you and I will not. And that’s where I find our problem. What can we do to insulate ourselves from this crushing top-down control?
I wish I knew, but I can only hope and pray that we, us, our side, will finally shake off the cloak of our conscientiousness and become the relentless, committed warriors we must need be. And when that happens following is a just and accurate eulogy for the death of the left:
Lay of the Last Minstrel, Canto VI, [My Native Land]
Sir Walter Scott
Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never to himself hath said,
This is my own, my native land!
Whose heart hath ne’er within him burn’d,
As home his footsteps he hath turn’d
From wandering on a foreign strand!
If such there breathe, go, mark him well;
For him no Minstrel raptures swell;
High though his titles, proud his name,
Boundless his wealth as wish can claim;—
Despite those titles, power, and pelf,
The wretch, concentred all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonour’d, and unsung.
