Spaceport America reaches “operational readiness.”

Like our host, I was born in ’59 and grew up watching in amazement the space program in the 60’s and still remember being inches away from that old Zenith tv set, eyes glued at every step I possibly could see watching the Apollo 11 mission.

Finally, it seems like everything is getting back in gear and the desire to get “out there” is growing again. It’s about time!

I’ve not been down to Spaceport America since very early in the construction but I hope to get down for another look soon. It’s just a few hours south of here, and Truth or Consequences is actually a nice little town for a short weekend getaway – the hot springs, spaceport, even their own brewery now too…what else could you ask for?

Anyway, here’s a link to the local story today (complete with a video clip) about the spaceport being declared ready for operations.
