My hope is that it was a failure in the refurb process, rather than a fundamental flaw in design–which this video suggests might be the case….

I have a dear friend who cannot understand why the pursuit of space so captivates me and thinks all such endeavors should be shut down and the funds reallocated to fighting poverty (never mind the general failure of such programs in the long run)–I’ve yet to come up with a way to adequately explain that just as she finds mathematics transcendental, so I find the precise application of physics to the problem of exiting Earth’s gravity….

By her logic, we really should have just stayed in Europe. Or maybe even Africa.
Yeah, I’m afraid her time in California has definitely muddied her ability to address issues with logic rather than feelings. She’s become rather inconsistent in her thinking.
