Stay-at-Home in Muslim Sharia Zone: Public Whippings Hardest Hit

Stay-at-home orders in Indonesia’s Aceh province, a Muslim Sharia zone, have really cut into the gate at public whippings, and forced social distancing changes that make Allah’s justice more difficult to mete out. Watch how easily journalists adapt to ‘cultural norms’ in a place where drinking and gambling gets you caned before a live audience.

If the Soviet Union was still in full force, they’d be bragging about hosing down the Lubyanka floor with Lysol and Fabuloso in between rounds.

Bill, Tele remote flogging? YOU ARE A GENIUS!
The problem with tele-commuting is supervisors can not administer the beatings to maintain & improve morale.

Another chorus in moral relativism and diversity. Flogging is just part of their culture. They’re ok with it, so we should be too.
Snarky jokes about it are fun “whistling past the graveyard”; why don’t we react with horror anymore?

Dehumanization seems to be what they embrace for others, as well as themselves. They have promoted a great many horrors to the harm of the world around them. If the welts land on those that sell flogging as “justice” or a “service to god”, then who am I sink my soul into the depths of despair on their account?
Truly, this nation has lost human lives, a mountain of wealth, and plenty of our time attempting to civilize a large portion of this violent religion. Do tell, what have we accomplished in that way? See the title of this video, my friend.

I’m reminded of an old Doonesbury comic from the early 80s, back when Doonesbury was still a comic strip. Some middle eastern leader was visiting here at a party with some American politicians, and one guy asked his American and middle eastern friends how they stay in shape. They each gave a one word answer:
“Jogging.”
“Flogging.”

It sounded like it was optional, but some of these public discipline type events (in this or past cultures) I think were semi-mandatory, to better encourage the populace to follow the rules.

If they just started charging for attendance to these things, they’d see a huge drop in attendees and have no problems with social distancing. Capitalism can solve almost anything!
